Power Walker DC Secure Adaptor 12 V 12VDC 12 W Li-ion Power Supply Mini USV Barrel Connector 5.5 mm/2.5 mm

Just run a discharge test on my new SecureAdapter, with a TP-LINK TD-W8968 which has a 1A rating (but wasn't doing much). The battery lasted 3 hours (maybe a couple of minutes longer) vs the 150 minutes quoted for a 1A load, so that's a good start. A bit worrying to read the other review (2017-02-04) about thermal cutoff at 2A, I also have a higher load router I will try in due course (Billion 8800NL), but as long as it does what I need I will be happy. I would have liked the unit better if they used the LEDs more intelligently, there is a slow green flash when the battery is being used and a slower green flash when it is charging (ie not a great difference in visuals).. The red light is used for errors only with no way to see how much charge is left (by perhaps mixing increasing red flashes with the green as the battery goes flat). And a UK-mains plug version would be nice too, instead a useful adapter to buy is either Black 5 A Fused Euro Converter Plug 2 Pole Euro Plug to 3 Pin UK Plug or BATTERY CHARGER ADAPTOR, 3A BLACK BCA-BK-3A By POWERCONNECTIONS , I ended up with one of both, they are the same as far as I can see, they are built for the 2.5Amp "Europlug" "flat" version of a European 2pin plug and have a set-screw to lock the adapter onto the 2-pin plug. Somewhat oddly I see the price shown is now £60.00 (free P&P) and that the seller (Stuff-UK) I bought mine from for £32 inc P&P is no longer listed. That seems a lot for this device, and it is surprising that there don't seem to be any alternative devices in this 12V UPS area. Edit: Stuff-UK is now showing up again at £28+delivery I see, slightly more than what I paid, but not that much different. 2021-11-07 Update - broken: My unit packed-up a few months ago. The battery seems fine (remove screw hidden under the "date made" label). My unit is five years old, has been in use for four. A bit disappointing, and not obvious how to dismantle it just in case there is a loose connection or something similar. But as no one else seems to make anything quite like this I guess I'll have to buy another. At least the price has dropped to £24.xx from 26.xx now. I never tested it on a higher load as intended. 2025-08-30 my second unit has broken, it has lasted less than four years, so even less than the first one. No more.

The most important part is that the adapter can handle 25W/2.1A when mains powered but on battery it can shut off as fast as in 2 minutes under that max load (thermal cutoff). It's real maximum sustained output at any condition is 12W/1A. That is seriously misleading and normally I would not recommend it but it gets high points because it has a easily replaceable 18650 li-ion cell, the charging system is well made and ensures a long life for the battery which makes it the best of its kind at this size and price point. Our tests with a variable DC load, various li-ion cells (including simulated) and temperature measurements did not expose any safety concerns.

Es una fuente de alimentación para modes/router o similar con una batería por si se va la luz. Yo lo uso para el router de Movistar (tras comprobar que el voltaje, amperaje y diámetro de la clavija era el mismo) y encaja perfecto. Así sigue funcionando la línea de teléfono aunque no haya luz (si tienes un teléfono "alámbrico" de los que no necesitan enchufe). Yo lo quería para que el sistema de domótica de la casa (que tiene su propia batería) pudiese avisarme si se va la luz mediante una llamada al movil. Necesitaba además algo muy compacto por donde está el router. He quitado el transformador del router y puesto este en su lugar y va perfecto. Tiene un botón de encendido y apagado y la batería es de fácil acceso bajo una tapa con un tornillito y se cambia sin herramientas (no está soldada, es como una pila), y es fácil de encontrar repuestos. El aparato es de fabricación alemana, que me ofrece más confianza que otras soluciones similares chinas, y la batería es Samsung. Por poner una pega el cable es algo más corto que el del router, mide unos 90 cm.

Dies ist eine unterbrechungsfreie Stromversorgung (USV) in Form eines Steckernetzteils mit einer Ausgangsspannung von 12V DC. Da sehr viele Router und auch viele andere Geräte mit dieser Versorgungsspannung betrieben werden, ist dieser Power-Adapter vielfältig einsetzbar und genau das, was ich gesucht habe. Ich betreibe ihn seit einigen Tagen an einem Dovado Pro Router. Da sich eine größere USV für NAS und Switch im Keller befindet, der Dovado Pro aber wegen dem erforderlichen LTE-Empfang im Erdgeschoss platziert ist, war dieser bisher nicht an eine USV angeschlossen. Das hat sich nun geändert. Habe das Gerät einfach in die Steckdose gesteckt, der Hohlstecker am anderen Ende des Kabels passte direkt in den Dovado Pro, ohne (separat erhältlichen) Adapter. Die LED an der USV fing an, grün zu blinken, was den Ladevorgang des eingebauten Li-Ion Akkus signalisiert. Die initiale Ladung dauerte einige Stunden. Während des Betriebs bleibt das Netzteil recht kühl und bisher konnte ich keine Geräusche oder dergleichen feststellen. Ein paar Tage später folgte auch gleich der "Ernstfall". Bei einem Test des Fehlerstromschutzschalters im Haus wurde die Stromversorgung für ca. 10 Minuten unterbrochen. Der Router lief in dieser Zeit unverändert weiter und die USV schaltete auch nach Wiedereinschaltung der Spannungsversorgung problemlos auf Netzspannung zurück und lud den Akku der USV wieder auf. Alles im Allem bietet dieses Gerät genau die Funktionalität, die ich gesucht habe und funktioniert bisher einwandfrei. Daher 5 Sterne.

Ottimo alimentatore con batteria di backup. Lo uso per alimentare il router wifi e l'hub delle telecamere a batteria esterne, così non perdono il collegamento se manca la corrente. La potenza di 24W è sufficiente per alimentare entrambi i dispositivi insieme (ho realizzato un cavetto a "Y" così da alimentarli entrambi con un solo alimentatore).

Ich habe den Powerwalker für mein Fritzbox 7490 gekauft als Backup für Stromausfälle. An meinem Fritzbox sind alle Lan Anschlüsse besetzt, eine analoge Fax hängt dran, 3x Dect Tel., Wlan in 5 GHz und 2,4 GHz, adsl sowie ein LTE Stick als Backup für meine adsl Anschluss. Mit diesem Konstellation hat der Fritzbox ca. 48min gehalten nach dem ersten voll Aufladen der Akku und nachdem zweiten voll Afladen der Akku ca. 53min. Wahrscheinlich wird die Zeit besser wenn der Akku ein paar mal geladen ist. Mehr als 1 std kann ich mir aber nicht vorstellen. Das beste daran ist dass man hier den Akku einfach tauschen kann. Der eingebaute Akku ist mit 2600mAH schwach deshalb habe ich gleich eine stärkere mit 3500 mAH bestellt. Damit dürfte die Zeit deutlich verbessert werden. Der Pawerwalker wird bei mir während der Betrieb mit der Fritzbox nicht wärmer als der original Adabter von der Fritzbox und auf Akkubetrieb nur handwarm. Ich bin zufrieden, kann das Teil weiter empfehlen.
