Wasn't available locally for some time. This is so yum! Maple+Bacon+Onion...what's not to love!

Let me start by saying that this stuff is different. Very very different. Its not your normal simple basic jam or jelly. If you don't like fusion foods or cuisine that combines flavors that don't usually go together, then this isn't for you. But if you DO have an adventurous palette, and enjoy fusion foods and trying new things, then I highly recommend this. When I say it's different, I mean it in the best way possible.When they say its a savory and robust combination of flavors, they aren't kidding. It doesn't have a traditional bacon flavor. It has an aftertaste reminiscent of the bacon bits you put on salad. Its got apples in it, but they aren't a strong prevalent flavor. The maple flavor isn't overwhelming at all, nor are the onions, though there are larger bits of onion throughout the jar. All of it blends together to make an excellent spread for toast or crackers, and anything else that goes good with a spread. It is a stronger flavored jam, but not in a bad way, and it doesn't leave an unpleasant aftertaste, provided you like bacon. LOL I tried it because I've been trying some various bacon products, like bacon jerky and candied bacon. And I'm glad I ordered it, and will be reordering again. In fact, it was so good that I ordered a few other products from Stonewall Kitchen to try. If you love bacon and fine fusion cuisine, then give this delicious jam a try. The box of 5 jars of jam arrived at the bottom of a large box, with no individual wrapping. One of the jar's lids was off the contents spread over all the jars. They were sticky messes. This is the first ttime for the careless packing.

I use this as a salmon glaze, and it is absolutely amazing… Adds the best flavoring… I could see it going well As a glaze for bacon, pork chops or chicken Or a spiral ham as well

I was very disappointed , when I opened the jar, the first thing I smelled was machine oil.. (years ago my husband was a machinist) that smell is unforgettable .. I tasted it and yes it had the same taste.

We had many friends over for a baked potato potluck party. Among the accoutrements, we provided the bacon jam. I bought two jars. Like magic the first jar was empty. Everyone wanted to know where I got it, so they could order some too. Yummy different.

It could be a personal taste issue, but it does not taste so good to me. It has this kind of distant burnt rubber flavor to it. While not exactly bad, it is not my favorite.
