Good quality and expands the scope of vision. It was a little larger than my original (that was in a 100-year-old door), but it came with a drill bit. Word of warning, If you are drilling a new hole or increasing the size of the existing one, make sure you are perfectly level, and drill in from both sides.

The peephole is functional and well built. No problem so far. My review focuses on the included drill bit. I get it; it's a free drill bit. The problem is that it doesn't work. It gives you a false sense of security, until you are trying to drill into the door only to realize that it will not work. Again, I get it, the bit is free, but save yourself some frustration. Get a real bit. You may ask what's the problem with the drill bit. Turns out that the bit itself does not have the side holes and the wood shaving jams up inside the bit, rendering it useless. You can get it to work by stoping every 5 seconds to remove the material built up inside the bit. But that's really a pain in the ass.

The peephole is made out of metal and seems sturdy. It came with a tool that was easy to use. Insert in your drill, tighten the lock and go for it! As a previous review advised, take your time drilling to avoid chipping the wood or fiberglass or whatever your door is made out of. I think it took about 5 minutes to complete. The view is clear and wide enough to see any one person or multiple people. Some reviews stated that they didn’t like the brand labeled on the swinging door of the peephole, I agree, it is a bit tacky. Therefore I grabbed a sharpie and dabbed some ink on the title. Easy installation

I bought this because it comes with a hole saw. But, the hole saw is very shallow and my door is 1 3/4" thick. A trip to the hardware store taught me that the correct depth hole saw and arbor would cost $40. So, here's what I did. 1. drill hole. 2. stop and clean out sawed wood between center drill and hole saw wall with a pick. 2. Using narrow chisel, insert in hole and strike with hammer. 3. scrape out wood dislodged. 4. Repeat 1-3. Over and over and over.The product is well made and looks and works great. So if you have a deep 5/8" hole saw, this is a 5 star product.
