Nice change from stock tail lights
The good: They provide an updated, modern look. The running, stop and turn LED lights are highly visibile. The bolt pattern matched that of my TJ Wrangler exactly. The meh: The units come with a black ground wire that the instructions say should be attached to the ground wire of the vehicle. The Wrangler TJ has no ground wire. Rather, in the stock lights, the lamps have a metal base that is attached to a metal plate through which the mounting bolts pass, grounding the lights to the chassis. The new units do not have a metal base. So, you need to tap into the black ground wire inside the light enclosure and run a short wire to a ring terminal and pass one of the mounting bolts to the ring terminal. The bad: The back-up light is dim and less bright than the stock reverse light. It has a milky white plastic lens that blocks most of the light. It serves only to signal other drivers than you are backing up and does not provide any back-up illumination. The second, but minor, bad thing is that the supplied screws for attaching the LED light assembly to the back case are too short. I had to make a trip to Home Depot to get longer screws. TJ installation notes: I consulted the OEM wiring diagram to identify the color codes for the stop, turn, running, and back-up lights, but when I wired the new lights accordingly, they did not work correctly. It turns out, surprisingly, that the OEM wiring diagram has the color codes mixed up, which I learned from an online Wrangler discussion forum. Here are the correct color codes for my 2004 Wrangler TJ: Left brake/turn light: green/red. Right brake/turn light: brown/red. Running lights: black/yellow. Reverse light: violet/black. Note that the Wrangler does not have separate circuits for the brake and turn lights. The onboard electronic control module pulses the brake lights to create the turn signal.

Worked great on my 2003 Wrangler sport.
I have a 2003 Jeep Wrangler sport. I just installed the tail lights. Pretty straight forward. I did solder and heat shrink all my connections. I did drill a small hole in the back of each tail light to feed the ground wire back through and wrap around one of the bolts before tightening and it worked great. A really great upgrade from the old worn out lights.
