Beautiful vase.

This came in a product box with ample polystyrene precisely cut to the vase shape. It was as described and accurate to the listing photo, and felt well made and durable with a flat base that sits fine on a surface without wobbling or looking lopsided. Although essentially flat, the base wasn't completely smooth, so could benefit from either some light sanding or small silicone pads. I like organic shapes, and the proportions work well for me. I've not put any flowers in it yet, but even on its own it looks good. The inside is glazed and well sealed. I've not had a chance to try lighting it yet, but lighting from above could work well. It's quite pricey, but given the size and overall aesthetic, I think it's worth it.

This is a lovely vase with a kind of antique Greek or Roman style to it.It has a kind of 'distressed' look to it, as if it has been buried in volcanic ash for centuries.I imagine that this is the kind of vase you would dig up if you were excavating in Pompeii in the shadows of Mount Vesuvius.It is exactly the kind of vase we were looking for to decorate our living room. My wife says she loves it.I should mention that the packaging was excellent, transported in a perfectly flush shaped mould of polystyrene, along with thick cardboard.There was one tiny sharp piece of ceramic protruding on the base, which I filed off with a nail file (to stop it damaging the wooden floor).Recommended.
