Good toy, not made well enough to play as a real instrument
I bought this as it vaguely resembles a lute as part of a fancy dress outfit. I would point out that the toy I received is in no way playable as an instrument. The neck of the instrument is angled away from the body, with the result that there is no gap (??action??) between the strings and the frets. This means that the strings vibrate against the lowest fret and you cannot hear what note it is supposed to be. I even tried raising the bridge with a whittle bit of wood just to see if it helped, but the angle of the neck means that any note played results in the strings pressing on the lowest fret and sounding dead.It's a shame as the tuners are surprisingly well put together.It seems to be a manufacturing issue in the bond between the neck and the body on the item I received.

Decent quality for the price although the strings go out of tune a little easy
This is actually really good wood. The strings tend to go out of tune easily but when it's tuned it its good fun with my 3 year old.It's pretty robust as she hasn't broken it (yet)
