Medieval Church Window Tracery in England

The text assumes a very high level of previous knowledge, and is not one for the beginner in the subject. That is the problem, lacking a dummy's guide to church tracery , this seems to be the only readily available book on the subject. It is not an easy read, and a lot of cross referencing is required, skipping backwards and forwards to photographs elsewhere in the book. Stephen Hart is such an authority that he probably cannot comprehend a lay-mans problems with vocabulary and terminology of the subject.Why the four stars? Simply because a book on the subject is needed and this fills the gap, and the subject is all there. The difficulty is finding it. A bit more logical reordering of the information would make a lot of difference for the good
