This is a sturdy and reliable clamp for the flash. It works well and I feel safe for my heavy flash unit.

I've been in the photo biz a long time, and I have used dozens and dozens of the "industry standard" super clamps, and these are just as good. They are easy to use, the pin retainer system works just fine, so do the spring-load button and the retaining wing-nut. The lever on the clamp makes them easy to tighten or remove. There are jaw-inserts for both tubular mounting to a light stand/c-stand, or put in the flat inserts to clamp to flat backdrops or countertops - these offer TONS of versatility. I've even used the pin mounts to mount a clamp to a clamp and now you have a super-super clamp. The finish on these is excellent, they are beefy, they clamp just fine. Dimensionally they are nearly identical to what everyone is used to using, except the pin that comes with these is longer, and chrome, rather than shorter and brass. The screw mechanism is a cheaper galvanized metal, not brass like the standard brand, but I've experienced no issues with that. The way you can ratchet the clamping lever to move it out of the way if necessary is a VERY NICE touch that I have come to appreciate, and is not present on my fancy clamps. At substantially less cost than the "industry standard brand(s)", these will likely begin replacing my current clamps as time goes on.

This mount is great for varipole setups, the way i use it is to mount lights on the roof of a small room supported by varipoles, the varipoles are thick and wide so you need bigger clamps for this which is where this one comes in place. It's big, solid, and heavy so i feel safe attaching big lights to this clamp, and once you tighten it, the grip of the clamp is hard and doesn't move at all. Overall a must have for tight studio setups.

Well made heavy duty clamp. The rubber insert that allows it to clamp onto smaller diameter rods does not hard mount, so it's essentialy loose and has a tenancy to get misplaced.

This thing is a beast and has massive clamping power. The ratchet handle is appreciated. However the unit is heavy and purpose driven so not ideal deal for just a clamp or a back-up light post in my setup as I dont have the support rods/equipment to mount this, as it weighs about 1.5lbs. If you have solid surface that don't move and can handle a hard clamping clamp, then this is ideal! Will definitely hold up a small light and Parabolic soft box like the Colbor CL60 & Parabolic reflector/softbox.
