A little disappointing overall
This stackpole book shares its stable mates attributes by being well researched, dry and a collection of individual experiences. Particularily aggrevating was the lack of actual overall sucess or failure of the 'tip and run' GN fighter bombers by fighter type such as the ME 110 series. I was disappointed in the lack of analysis of the overall campaign in regard to 'was it worth it?' and the limited analysis of British counter-measures necessary to defeat the FB low-level high speed attacks. Seemed to me more a compilation of individual pilot's experiences. The book does have pictures in abundance of most missions followed, usually pictures of shot-down/wrecked GN planes or captive GN pilots, most, I suspect, never before published. Not too much in the way of ordinance/a-c armanent used, much less that responsible for losses. However, for period affectionatio's, it may be a worthwhile reference book for a little documented period of WWII. NOT A BUY RECOMMENDATION OVERALL.
