We have recently moved into the home barista business. OK not really a business but we have switched from Nespresso to a proper espresso machine that requires the proper puck preparation. After using the tools the machine came with, we quickly realized we needed some assistance to keep our mornings more hassle free. So we purchased a portafilter stand, a portafilter ring and this leveling tool. This tool seems to be unique in that it uses gravity to push down the powder compared to others that you adjust the depth with. First the tool itself feels of high quality, and it is very simple to use. Just drop it in the portafilter and then turn. There is something very satisfying about using this leveler, dare I say I look forward to it? I actually ordered other levelers and this one won not only for its simplicity of use (there is no dialing it in to determine the depth you want) but with the joy of using it. It's also very well priced considering it's quality. It has also helped tremendously with getting consistent shots in the morning (by leveling the grounds before tamping).Tip: If you are new to this, creating a bit of a mound in the middle before you use this will limit the amount of powder that comes out of the sides when you level it.

WDT, then a quick spin with this to level (I do not like self-leveling tampers). Then tamp as usual. Works every time.

Nice solid product with a hefty weight that packs down and smooths out the grinds for a more even extraction. A must for the espresso enthusiast and connoisseur!

I don't use it any more. It was okay when I did. RDT alone for me is enough. Easy to use, easy to clean built well.. does what it claims, everything you expect. But, it's just an added step for me that I don't really feel has huge benefit. It got stashed in a drawer street about 8 months. Never to be worried about again.

Works very well, not sure how much I like or need the gravity aspect but it is incredibly easy/convenient with it, coffee has been tasting great so no real complaints.

If you're new to the espresso world. This little tool helps eliminate the guess work. If you're like me and are super new to setting up your puck for extraction this little beauty will help distribute the grinds nicely. Design is nice and sleek. It has a good amount of weight to it as well. Super easy to use. Basically hold till fully extended place and then spin a few times till fully extended in portafilter. That's it! It's helped me early on with channeling issues.

It couldn't be any better, this feels great, great weight and works well.
