GREAT CHOICE BUT BE CAREFUL OF PACKAGING
I've went through various HID models between Philips and Osram, both German, and both excellent products; but for the D1S versions my X5 Retro-M needed, the Osram Cool Blue BOOST won out, after countless hours comparing brightness readings, warmth (Kelvin) and so forth. These are shown as "OFF ROAD ONLY" because of the strict limitations they have yet to approve for European use with this whiter color, even though the actual brightness is "technically" about 10% less than their more expensive NIGHT BREAKER LASER version, but about 10% brighter than the Osram's Cool Blue INTENSE. The Cool Blue Intense is about 10% brighter and 10% whiter than BMW's excellent OEM part, which is about 4500K, and better than most OEM lamps for other cars. Having said all this, their is a HUMAN factor to what we perceive that makes the brightness and color ratings offset each other from one bulb to another, and that's where the Cool Blue BOOST excel. A 10% lower lumen rating (brightness) on a 20% whiter bulb (Kelvin) will have the human eye effect of being much brighter, and much clearer, in most cases. Their true Kelvin temperature is about 6500K, and increases maybe 300 after breaking in (20 to 30 hours of use). The human eye can't see this; nor can the human eye see the 10% deficiency of brightness compared to the most powerful Night Breaker Lasers, because they're running at roughly 4500K; and this warmer temperature color (more red spectrum) is part of the increased brightness. But the human eye likes DAYLIGHT brightness, and that is around 5500K at high noon. (Early morning and later afternoon is more like 4000K or lower.) So don't get hung up on "brightness" ratings (Lumen numbers); they're misleading for a number of factors; but there are several real good videos of sales teams testing all these top performers. The HUMAN EYE likes WHITE LIGHT, and the colors on the road at night jump out at you with the Cool Blue BOOST lamps, better than any other. There is some truth to the argument that lower temperature lamps make driving in snow and heavy rain easier to penetrate, because (theoretically) the lower temperature lamps (4200-4800K) don't bounce off particles like brighter white colors do. But that too is human eye perception; and you might like the softer amber shade of lower temperatures. If so, then the best on the block (for now, October 2019) is the Night Breaker Laser. But, if like me, you want a pure white, powerful long range color rich driving experience with a European look for bystanders, then the Cool Blue BOOST is the best choice. The fact that it is "outlawed" abroad makes it even more appealing! WARNING: Watch out for the WAY and WHO you order whatever you get. ONLY buy in FACTORY SEALED PAIRS. It is important with HIDs to get "production lots" matched, and not replacing one bulb at a time, or buying "two packaged" bulbs, where you're getting two SINGLE bulbs. One can be two years on a shelf longer than the other, and have an obvious color shade difference (if that bothers you, as with me). Secondly, RETURN any TWIN BOX that has had the seal broken. The attached photo may not show it, but this seal had been carefully broken and resealed. A buyer in a hurry would open this without noticing it, and maybe wind up with someone else's rejection while paying NEW price. I can't blame the seller or Amazon, but one of my orders was recycled. Lastly, AMAZON has a habit of shipping these GLASS products, well packaged by Osram or not, in an ENVELOPE, which risks even more that the seal will be broken, or worse. So inspect closely before you keep!

Nice bulbs, appears to be legit
I just installed these bulbs today and haven't seen them at night yet, but expect they will be fantastic. I had one bulb burned out, so replaced that one first to compare with the other still working bulb. It seemed much brighter (though both still blinded me.) Upon initial start-up they do appear blue/purple-ish and then settle to a very nice white that can be see on the clear headlight housing but still has that 6000K-ish color that I had previously. As soon as I received the bulbs, I went to the OSRAM site and verified the number on the unbroken seal and the two bulb numbers returned matched what was in the package. So I was comfortable proceeding with all the work to remove the front bumper to get the headlight housing out in order to change. The price was very reasonable compared to other sites that wanted over $200 USD for the same set. As long as they are legit, which they appear to be, it's a great deal.I'll update again once I've had a chance to see them at night.

Matching color and bright
For some one who has installed many different brands of D1S bulbs in projector housings, these OSRAM live up to their German quality. The bulbs have perfect matching color and brightness. (tested with a color meter and Lumen meter). I found their color, after full warm up to be about 6500K. This may change some after their break in period which is usually about 40 hours. I also went to the OSRAM web site and verified that these are indeed genuine OSRAM, German bulbs. If you know that quality counts, these bulbs are easily worth the price.UPDATE:My D1S OSRAM bulbs are now broken in and working perfectly. After about 40 plus hours of break in, they have a perfect color match for both bulbs 6850K (tested with a color meter)I believe these 35 W bulbs are maybe 10% brighter than normal 35W HID bulbs. These bulbs are marked "off road" but that may be because of Europe's ECE requirementsWhen these bulbs are properly aimed in projector housings, they do not bother on coming traffic

Excellent replacement for a Mercedes W164 ML
Bought these to replace the factory 4300k HID bulbs in a 2007 Mercedes ML63 W164. They are a direct fitment, no issues at all, took less than 20 minutes. Only annoyance was the space behind the headlights was tight, injured my hands. Small hands would be no problem at all.Now for the bulbs, I am comparing these to the factory OSRAM/Philips 4300k bulbs. The bulbs are pure pure white with a hint of blue on the edges/cutoff. The light on the ground is a cool white, but looking at the bulbs/projectors there is a blue color. I really like the temperature, it looks elegant, suitable for a German car. They lighted up the road better than factory bulbs.First thing I did when receiving the package was checking for authenticity, and they are genuine according to OSRAM's site.I believe the true colors will show after a while, might update with pictures.

Authentic osram bulbs
These cbb bulbs are a huge upgrade over the morrimoto Xb d1s I had on my bmw light out put is second to none in the 5500 kelvin rangeThey say 7000k which I believe osram uses to rate there intensity vs the color rang most people think Kelvin ratings is it’s lumens but it’s the color osram rates it based on that 7000k would be a extremely blue light but these are pure led like white light extremely satisfied with this purchase don’t hesitate these are authentic bulbs you can use osram trust appAnd for the price it can’t be beat imagine a osram cbi with 5 times the brightness that’s a cbb bulb matches my aftermarket bav group angle eyes perfectly
