I liked that it was a simple install. I was replacing a "smart" lock that I really didn't need, and that caused me too many headaches with my network. This is a simple lock that provides all the features that I will ever need for a back door to our garage.

I wanted a keyless deadbolt, no Wi-Fi features. Kwikset is a company I trust, having used their products for many years. What absolutely sold me on this product was the SmartKey feature, which allows you to re-key the lock yourself, no locksmith required.Installation and setup (including re-keying) took about 15 minutes. I appreciate the ease of use and the fact that if the batteries fail I can open the lock with the same key as all of the other door locks in my home.If you want a simple keyless entry from a company you can trust, this is an excellent choice.

Works as advertised, with good installation instructions. Fit perfectly into the existing holes from an old Kwikset key only deadbolt. Was able to rekey it easily to use my old key.

Recently purchased a house with 5 entryways on the first floor and replaced all the existing deadbolts with these electronic locks. The build quality feels a step below something like schlage but are very functional. Installation, in my case through replacing old preexisting hardware, is quick and easy. Pin set up is also very quick and painless. One thing I don't like is that auto lock is not preset and must be setup by you.A couple of gripes or observations about these...no batteries are included and each unit requires 4 AA so be prepared. The bolt has a very low bind tolerance and will throw a errors if your catch isn't exactly lined up. Unfortunately for a few of our doors we had to leave the plates off to shave some area before reinstalling.

Had problem with the initial lock, it would not operate with the keypad. The lock would operate manually. I called Kwikset and they sent a new lock at no charge and didn't want me to send the defective device back. Great customer servicehas shown me they care about their customers and their products. The fact that I could make this lock keyed with the old key was simple and worked easily.

I have had one of their door knob keyless entry for about 8 years. A wire failed in it was a 9v battery version. Loved but needed a new one. I like this one better so far it takes AA batteries and it is easier to get to replace them which hopefully means it will last longer.This deadbolt version is super simple to install and is easy to program it took me all of 10 minutes to remove the old locks and install the new ones. The deadbolt is smooth in function and seems to be a great value for the money.

Because I already had a quickset lock, installing this new one was easy. 15 minutes. I followed the instructions carefully, and things worked out just fine. I particularly like the auto lock feature. Very convenient, so I decided to add one to all of my exterior doors. Hopefully it will last just as long as my previous traditional kwickset lock.

Liked it at first and it was easy to set up looked great and worked how it should. Have only owned it since August 25th and sadly it already broke and stopped working. It doesnt engage and gets stuck partway in the lock position☹️ im super sad about it because i did really like it.

My friend has this exact lock. I instantly fell in love with it when I was visiting her. I don't have to worry about my key. I do keep it on me but it's nice to be able to walk out the door and know it's going to automatically lock seconds after. It's nice and convenient especially because my kid doesn't always latch the door or friends come in and don't lock it and it can pop open. So when people come in it locks and the pets can't get out. Gives me peace of mind when my hubby is away or when I'm home on my day off sleeping. I'll never go back to a regular lock system.
