Great bit of kit that gets rid of plugging in to cigarette lighter

Tucked under the dash so only the usb ports show

Works great, installed to run a Dashcam and Phone Charger. Used a fuse tap into the fusebox and grounded to a chassis bolt.

Bought this because I didn't want wires trailing over and under my dash when I was installing my dashcam.Instead, I used this to step down from 12V to the required 5V for the USB power to the dashcam. I powered hooked in directly from the supply at the cabin light, tidied and shrink wrapped the solder connections, and hid the electronics up there.My dashcam is a very low draw, a fraction of an ampere, so I can't comment on the 3A rating. What I can say is it's now been used, almost daily, without fail for a number of months.Good job for what it's being used for. I just wouldn't dare use it continuously at it's 3A rating without additional cooling.

I wanted to package these in a small project box alongside an ESP32 wifi WLED controller.I guess not all are the same, as I've used one before - that looked identical but with a different label - and it works fine. I've tried 2 of these and both stop the ESP32 from doing its thing. I suspect RF noise as even when not using it to supply power, simply placing one besides my ESP32 stops it responding.

Rubbish. Used 7 times to charge a phone from a battery and it has now packed up.
