Great kids book

Super cute cook. Daughter loved it. So we ordered one for her friend’s birthday!

The old lady series is one of our favorites and this one was no exception to the laughs my kids get from these books. Recommend this and all the other books!

Cute and fits the theme of all the other books , but with added animal facts

My child, and myself as a teacher, have very much enjoyed many of this author’s “Old Lady Who Swallowed” series. But this mermaid who swallowed a shark, as well as a few of her newer books, have messed with the easy flowing sequence of these stories. Now instead of just going through the list of items she’s swallowed and then adding the next item to the sequence she’s been putting in, IMO, unnecessary pages of dialogue between ancillary characters in between adding on to the list of items swallowed that interrupt the overall flow of the books. While my child still enjoys them, it’s irritating enough to me as an educator to make me not want to purchase any of her follow up books in this series.

My ESOL students love these for the repetition of language and the awesome graphics!

Kiddo really liked this one just because it's about a mermaid. Very cute and funny. Story isn't as fluid as others in the series.
