first real laser engraver. this is an amazing machine. it's moron level simple to use and understand. (which was perfect for me). the hardware is well designed and well made. the xtool software is amazingly easy to use. with the riser installed the rotary tool work well. if you want to do cup with handles you will need a 3rd party kit to raise the rotary tool as the stock tool will be to low. beware it is heavy. you will need 2 people to unbox and set it up.

After years of thinking about purchasing a laser engraver I finally pulled the trigger, so far I am very satisfied. After watching a lot of U tube videos this was my best compromise in price, features, size and quality. Set up and assembly were easy, after adapting my brain to the instruction manual. Utube videos to the rescue. Navigating software was not overly difficult, just dive in and try the different capabilities. I suggest using inexpensive card stock to get started, I used matte board pieces from my collection of stuff. The build quality is fantastic. With all the choice availability the xTool s1 platform with its software complement appeared to be the one for me. Would love to have a co2 laser but to pricey for me.

I love this device. The speed of work is great and the quality is beyond my expectations. The 40watt laser lets me engrave on everything that I want. I initially had some difficulty setting up the extended base, but after watching the tutorials and reading the provided manual, it was easy to figure out. This is my first laser engraver and it's value for the money makes it a home run.

This thing is Amazing! The only downside is that I have to learn a new thing and it's so hard. It came with a million pieces that I dont know how to use. But, if you've used Design Space, it's similar. The packaging was very solid and I was able to unpacked it and put it together by myself. It is large so be prepared to have a dedicated space for it. I plan to do a lot with it so I purchased the upgraded package, and I'm glad I did. Pricey but worth the money if you're more than an occasional crafter. It has the ability to make precise, small designs. It works fast so I'm able to produce a lot in a small amount of time. You definitely need to vent the hose though bc it will smell up your space. It's not terribly strong, but noticeable if that's a thing that bothers you. Definitely satisfied with my purchase.

We feel that the size is misrepresented. The title, images, description, details section and almost all areas of this listing and the associated product on the Xtool website keep referring to the bed size as almost 24x15 inches. Nowhere on this listing does it say that the work area is only 19x12. We laser full frame designs on products and bought this specifically for the 24x15 area we thought we could laser. We only found out about the smaller work area when we watched a YouTube video from another Xtool owner and they referred to the bed size limitations. That’s when we went through this whole listing again and found no mention of a work area at all, but bed size is repeatedly mentioned. Only once on the Xtool product page does it mention work area, not in the images, description or details. You have to scroll pretty much all the way down to the bottom under specifications to find the one line saying your laser area is smaller than the bed size that keeps being advertised. We spent a lot on this and bought the riser, the rotary bundle, and other things to combine with the laser but now feel disappointed and deceived.

After having this unit for several months I have to say it beats the pants off of my other engravers. I purchased the air filtration unit with it and have zero smell or smoke when running it. Also bought the 2 watt laser for metal and am truly impressed with what it can do. I have only had one issue with it and that was the laser lense cover. The glass etched over time and would diffuse the laser point. Contacted support and was able to get several of them for cheap money. Got me right back into business. The software that comes with it works well. Having used Lightburn for my other engravers it was a small adjustment and learning curve. Overall a great laser that has done everything I have wanted it to do.

Had some issues with customer service at the start when having issues with the product but after emailing them and getting to the right places and people everything was resolved and the customer service actually ended up being super helpful and friendly! I would like to name drop Wendy at XTool as she has been great and exceeded my expectations. The machine is great and has impressed me very much. The free software “Creative Space” is very user friendly but I do wish it had options for tapered tumblers like other laser engraving softwares have.

This is amazing. I bought this last year in august and it has been amazing. I have made so many cool projects with this. The rotary bundle is easy to set up but you will need to read the directions. The Xtool 40 watt laser works well for creating cool laser products. 10/10

Great machine so far. I have done a few engravings with the materials provided, and they look great. I used the balsa wood to cut out some letters, the pieces look perfect. The only thing is the smell. If you are cutting indoors, you will need to purchase something to help with the air. I have the hose connected to the outside, but the smell was still so strong. I grabbed a fan and faced it towards the smoke to try to help with the smell and smoke, but it was still not great. I will save any cutting for outdoors, or until I am able to purchase something else to help with the smoke and air quality. Overall though, I am super happy with the machine and glad I purchased it. This will be great for my small business needs.

Awesome machine, exactly what I was expecting and more. It has helped grow my laser engraving business to a whole new level and I will be buying more xtool products again in the future!

Sadly, after having this machine for over a year and fighting with it, I have basically given up. Keep getting error issues that terminate right in the middle of a job and waste the project. Repeated attempts to perform the "fix" provided by xtool and it still isn't working. Beyond frustrated with this POS. A quick google search seems to indicate the problem I'm having is quite common (riser/base exception issues). When it works, it's great...but I've got like 5 out of 50 successful projects out of this thing.
