ALFA AWUS036NEH Long Range WIRELESS 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi USBAdapter

So I have been needing to get me one of these Alfa Extenders for a while now, and just kept putting it off because there are so many different brands, and types of these things, and I needed one that specifically would support 'Packet Injection' & have the ability of being put on 'Monitor Mode'. While also giving a good boost to my Wi-Fi signal. By the way, I have both a 'Late 2011, MacBook Pro - Model #A1278' & also a 'Mid 2012, MacBook Pro - Model #A1278'. Both of them I have upgraded to 16GB RAM, along with (2) Samsung 860 EVO 4TB Solid State Drives, because I removed the Optical Disc Drives from them, and bought the adapter fittings that allow you to install a 2nd SSD in place of Optical Drive. I just received this Alfa today though on December 31st, 2018, and immediately plugged in an External Disc Drive, installed the Drivers, plugged in the Alfa, and it works flawlessly on both MacBooks. Does everything I needed it to, and I am very happy with the purchase. So anyone of you out there like myself that like to do extensive research on stuff before purchasing so you know your getting the exact product you want, this is definitely a good choice if you're needing the same things I did. This product is amazing! This is a very high quality little chip. It has an extremely long range and never glitches up or drops the connection. Unlike many reviews say, it does support packet injection and monitor mode. It’s power can be boosted with software for an even larger range (you will need to check your local laws before you try) although it can overpower most signals without power boosting and it can even be turned into an AP itself. This is much more powerful than your typical WiFi adapter. It works flawlessly for the pentesting that I do with my raspberry pi and I definitely recommend it.

It works quite great and i love that portableness but the plastic case looks very weak that it can break at a slight fall. Its nice though works well with kali ,supports monitor mood .very good for pen testing

This thing is pretty cool.100% plug-n-play in Kali Linux & Ubuntu. Needed some serious work in Debian, but that’s Debian’s WiFi issue. My Mac running High Sierra had issues running the software that is included, and the drivers needed to be updated. I don’t use Windows, so I have nothing to offer in that arena. Overall a cool little WiFi USB dongle. Oh, and I dunno about “long distance”... the internal card on a Lenovo 100s, in which I’m running Ubuntu, picks up the same, if not more, amount of WiFi access points in my downtown apartment. Anywho, just my opinions and things I noted. I say buy it.

This adapter was bought for an older desktop PC that did not have internal WiFi capabilities. Had an older different model but it didn't provide a consistent signal to the PC. This unit has been great. Signal strength is at the top even when nearly 75' from the WiFi module. There has been no signal drop or loss and the throughput speeds match my network perfectly. Great buy for the cost!

Works beautifully, no install needed, just plug and play with Kali. I'm currently using this with the latest Kali distribution, packet injection is flawless, and monitor mode is super solid.The included 5 dbi antenna gets me about a two block radius, if unobstructed. I ordered both a 9 dbi omni, and 9 dbi directional antenna for testing, and holy cow does it extend the range. I picked up wireless from a quarter mile away using the directional. The 9 dbi omni about doubles the range of the 5.You can't go wrong with this adapter.

I have a laptop in my detached garage, and had the hope that with the antenna I'd get a better transfer speed from this unit than with the laptop's built-in wifi. Speeds turned out to be less than half of what I was getting without it.

This item was advertised to work on Kali for pentesting. I can confirm that it, in fact, will NOT pull beacons. Avoid this item if you're looking for something to utilize for pentesting. On top of that...the linux driver Makefile is corrupted on the disk. Come on guys...get it together!Also found device from an Alfa dealer for a lot cheaper than on Amazon.Don't be me folks. Do your research and ask in forums of where to purchase these devices. I'd ask for a refund...but I may just keep it for gits and shiggles.
