I had the DVD collection, but enjoyed the series so much, I bought the Blu-ray version.

Bought these for my sister who is addicted to the show. Now I'm addicted as well! Incredible writing, acting, costumes (Miss Fisher's dresses are to die for) and cinematography. Pitty the series wasn't longer.

This series was purchased as a gift so I have not watched it myself. The series was sealed from the manufacturer and I am told that all discs played just fine.All of the discs have been watched and none had any scratches or skips in them, no issues playing them at all.The show is a mystery but has funny moments in it because the title character keeps getting into trouble and finds such unique ways of getting out of said trouble.

This is a fun series - a bit of a sleeper, but well acted the era is perfectly represented, and was a lot of fun to watch.

If you haven't taken a chance on this series yet why not. They do an amazing job and the acting is top notch. Go ahead, you know you want it. It will make a great Christmas gift.

What a Great Romp! I saw this series for the first time by borrowing it from the library, and I was happily surprised. Based on the books in the Mystery Series of the same name, Essie Davis perfectly embodies the joie de vivre of the Phryne Fisher (Lady Detective) character. She is at once, bold, brash, funny, compassionate, vulnerable, courageous, amorous, irreverent and sophisticated. The time period of the late 1920s is beautifully and lavishly rendered -- Phryne's wardrobe, alone, is a joy to see. While the show has a nice, balanced intersection of murder mystery and it's tongue-in-cheek approach to aspects of each episode, I felt it stayed mostly on course to be more amusing than campy. The character of Chief Inspector, Jack Robinson, is performed with some highly-skilled, subtle nuances by Nathan Page. While Jack's character is fairly secondary in the books, in the TV series, the increased focus on him as a "partner in crime" (forgive the pun) and growing love interest for Phryne only adds to the entertainment, as does their witty repartee. The supporting cast is equally enjoyable and charming, and their characters are well fleshed out. If you like a lot of fun with your murder mysteries, this is a great series for that! In fact, the world-wide enjoyment of and interest in this series has resulted in over $700,000 in public donations to help fund the making of a Miss Fisher Murder Mystery movie. So, one more story about Phryne Fisher to look forward to.

So far I have watched the first 3 discs in the first season of the series. Disc 1 Episode 4 starts breaking up towards the end of the episode. Cleaned the disc, has no scratches, but episode 4 still breaks up towards the end. Still hard to see and hear what is going on. Disc 2 has 3 big scratches, but plays fine. Disc 3 is perfect. Will continue review once I finish Disc 4. Still have the 2nd and 3rd season set of discs to watch. Stay tuned.

Just love this series but quality of DVD's are not up to par - too dark and slightly fuzzy

Wonderful series with amazing costuming and props. Essie Davis is an delight as the interfering detective always two steps ahead of of the inspector.Received the discs wrapped well and quickly before shipping due date.

Wish they would do a fourth season

Great value! The full length movie was included along with the 3 complete seasons which was a nice surprise.
