I have one of those doughnut-shaped ice packs with the beads for my knee, and if I have the time, sitting with it definitely ices my owies more thoroughly. However, this flexible sleeve is great if I have to do anything more than just sit with my foot up. I can have it on while sitting at my desk, or when I may have to get up to feed a kid, etc. and it doesn't slip. What's more, it was easy to pack and bring with me on my travels this summer, so win-win. Just make sure you measure and get the right size! This was recommended by a friend, and hers was too big for me.

The upper arm sleeve was surprisingly very soft and comfortable. I recently tore my biceps, and when a large bruise and hard lump developed almost overnight, I quickly ordered the sleeve, and it arrived the next day. I placed it in the freezer for 1 hour, then easily slipped it onto my swollen upper arm. The sleeve stayed cold for about 20 minutes, and after about 45 minutes I realized it was comfortably warm, due to my body temperature. I refroze it every few hours, and have even worn it to bed a few nights. Haven't tried to heat it in the microwave yet, nor have I washed it. But I will say that I liked it so much, I bought another one for my knee. My only concern is that I'm just not sure how comfortable the sleeve would be if you had to pull it up over stitches, or while recovering from surgery.

This is working really well for me, using on my knee. Concentrates the cold all around the knee, it doesn’t slip so you can walk with it and it’s comfortable. The material over the gel needs to be thicker though. It is way too cold to wear on bare skin and even over a thin layer of clothing. I’ve had to add an ace bandage over some thinner workout pants in order to tolerate the cold. It would also benefit from a zipper or Velcro opening along the side as it’s a pain to slide on over pants that are not form fitting.

I had a total knee replacement three weeks ago. Everyone told me ice will be my new friend. Doctor frowned on the circulating ice machine. I tired different knee wraps but they are clumsy and don’t wrap around the whole knee. So glad I found these sleeves. I bought a large to fit over my swollen knee and a medium to go just below to cover my calfi. Stays cold 15 to 20 minutes which is all you really need. In my case it is instant relief. An hour 9n freezer and ready to go again.

Feels great, but only stays cold enough for less then 7 minutes.
