Kinda pricey but it’s good
Ok pros: Tastes good. Really good. I’ve drank coffee for maybe 35 years and have worked for Starbucks. I know coffee. It’s very smooth & dissolves completely even in cold water & milk, that rarely ever happens. Comes in a nice reusable container that I liked that the company made not using too, too much plastic but sturdy enough & with a removable label with only a discreet logo on the lid, so very eco-conscious in that aspect as you can use the container for other purposes instead of adding to the trash mountains. Comes in packets which make it convenient, con here being that although it’s perforated the perforation is at an angle & thus rips only a small hole so I had to use scissors thus defeating the “convenience” “on the go” factor. But that part is easily fixed if the company realizes the fact.Ok cons: even though I know coffee & know premium coffee, it feels pricey at $10 dollars a pop, though I did get a $7.99 deal on another box of the same, not sure if different sellers or if just a sale. $7.99 feels more reasonable but it’s also not overly crazy for it to be at $10 because I know the back end of the entire process & it is quality good tasting coffee.I would say if you’re on a budget but want to splurge than buy it like you’re treating yourself to an expensive latte. Or think of it as a packet costing you $1 a cup. Buy it for the convenience of being able to take a packet in your pocket or purse especially if the coffee maker at work is nonexistent or too far or you’re tied to your desk until you’re finally able to get to it but meanwhile you’re drudging through without your coffee then this is an excellent source of convenience & caffeine and if that’s the case you know damn well all we need is water, forget the milk sort of situation.I like it. I’m going to continue to buy. I’ll still drink my Folgers or Nescafé regularly but this is going to be my emergency take to work coffee packets that I’ll probably carry daily. Also I love the positive affirmations & vibes on it- “Happy” “Smile Break” “It’s Go Time” “Miraculous” oh yeah I’m a sucker for good words too. Makes me feel good.

Rich and smooth flavor but a tad pricey
This Happy coffee medium roast instant coffee is an interesting product. Its packaging instantly caught my eyes and the individual packets continues its red and white motif.Instant coffee is usually my fallback when I need a cup of coffee quickly and don't have the time to wait for a brew. For instance, when my meeting starts in five minutes and I'm preparing the materials I need, I'm able to get my coffee ready in time to attend it on time. Otherwise, I prefer a properly brewed coffee if I had the choice. With that said, there are some good instant coffee brands on the market. Many like the Starbucks brand, but I prefer Kanu. My comparison for this product will be against the Kanu brand. As opposed to brands like Folgers, the Happy brand instant coffee is a fine powder rather than course pellets. This pretty much makes the powder melt into the hot water without even stirring. Pouring milk into the cup, the coffee's color doesn't lighten as much as with regular coffee, which I found is the case with all instants that I've ever drank. Weird how that works. The taste is rich and smooth. There isn't a harsh bitterness that instant coffee might have because it was too concentrated. I would consider this one of the best instant coffees I've ever had. It is quite comparable to the Kanu brand. I got the medium brew, which is great. Unfortunately, just as with the Kanu brand and any other brand, it is unable to escape the "instant coffee" taste. Basically, it is easy to tell that this is not brewed coffee but came from a powder. I'm not sure how to describe that taste but anyone who drinks coffee on a regular basis probably knows what I'm trying to say. What makes this coffee less attractive is the price. At more than one dollar per packet, this is more expensive than a nespresso pod and there is no comparison between the coffee that you get from this vs the pod. The Kanu is one-third the price of this product and tastes just as good.

Standard instant coffee
To start off - this comes with 8 packets of instant coffee in a large plastic container. The coffee itself is pretty standard instant coffee. Decent flavor and not watery at all.The packaging doesn't state how much water to add per packet, so I started with 6 oz of hot water, gave a taste, and ended up adding around 3 oz more plus a little splash of milk.Like I stated above, the packets come in a large plastic container. I would prefer a cardboard package or more packets in the jar. I try to minimize plastic waste plus it takes a lot of cupboard space for just 8 cups of coffee.Overall, this is pretty run of the mill instant coffee, and I would be unlikely to purchase in the future due to the packaging.

Convenient and actually tastes really good
I'm always wary of instant type foods in general, but after trying this one it's certainly an exception. I ordered this coffee to be a backup incase we ran out and needed a quick cup, and it served that purpose well when I wanted an iced coffee but ran out of regular coffee for brewing - just poured a pouch of this in some ice water and it was ready. Was very surprised that it tasted just as good as normally brewed and cooled coffee. It dissolved completely, no grinds leftover in the mix. No weird after taste or anything, just good coffee. I'm keeping the rest on hand for when it inevitably happens again and I need a quick cup in a pinch.
