I used this hair relaxer to straighten my hair and reduce thickness, and overall I was satisfied with the results. It effectively straightened my hair while leaving it manageable and easier to style

I have used Hair relaxers in the past with no issues what so ever. So today I opened up the package, read the instructions, mixed the relaxer and applied to my hair, as I’m smoothing it out I notice it starts to tingle, and then burn, after about 5 minutes from starting to apply the product to smoothing it out the burning got so intense that I had to wash it out completely, the pain was so unbearable that the water from the shower and just touching the hair and head was incredibly painful. I used the included shampoo that’s supposed to stop the relaxer, which intensified the burning! So I washed my hair as much as I could and used the included mask. Obviously my hair is only slightly less curly than it was as I quickly removed it and did not give it long enough to relax my hair, but due to the burning I had to remove it, I’d rather have curly hair than a ruined scalp! If I had not quickly washed it out it may have been so much worse and may have actually caused permanent damage which is very worrying. I have never had this happen before and it felt as if my whole scalp was on fire and bleeding. The first two photos are from the evening, the last three are just after I washed the product out in the morning the same day. I followed the instructions and ended up with an excruciatingly painful scalp. I hope the redness and pain goes away quickly as it’s still very painful to even run my hands through my hair. So I highly do not recommend buying this, if you do please please use extreme caution and do a small area first. I have used a very similar product in the past a handful of times with absolutely no issues, and have always gotten great results. I don’t know what went wrong here.

Used to retouch 4c hair. Based scalp well with Mizani Butter Blend Butter base (scalp protector). Once product was applied to retouch Hair and smoothed, I used the neutralising shampoo supplied (which run out), so I used Motions moisture neutralising shampoo making sure the shampoo suds colour changed from pink to white and rinsed hair well of all the excess product. It straightened my hair well and did not burn. The leave in conditioner was also good. I will be using this product, African Pride Olive Miracle Deep Conditioning Antibreakage No lye Relaxer again in future. Performed Brilliantly!

The customer service was great. They replied to my emails quickly. But I think something was wrong with the product, it smelled really strong and it didn't straighten my 4c hair at all. Maybe I should have bought super strength, but I'm still extremely disappointed that it did nothing for my hair.
