I usually don’t write reviews on anything but after using these i have to. I’m a mechanic and I do a lot of brake jobs I have bough 6 pair of blue point caliper compression tools and they all kept breaking. So I figured I’d try these, these impressed me the rachating mechanism is smooth but not loose, the plates move out in even lengths ratcheting doesn’t become difficult when used on a caliper and just the ease of use. Honestly value for the money and performance is just great. Note I also like the thickness of the metal plates.

It is a product that I love very much since it is very useful when it comes to maintaining my brake pads.

It easily pushes the caliper pistons but somewhat inconvenient to use. The ratcheting action only works if there is pressure on the plates. So it requires two hands to operate it. You have to use one hand to squeeze the plates until it starts pushing the caliper pistons. The tool is made of thick strong steel plates and it looks durable.

You can't beat the quality for this price point! I saw the poor reviews on another one similarly priced, and decided to try this one, since it had a different design and what seemed like a larger sturdier, handle. I didn't feel like spending $55+ to buy the more expensive one until I tried this. It was noticeably sturdy as soon as I took it out of the box. It worked great, and was well worth the $19 to save time and not have to fumble with a C-clamp and one of the old brake pads, as I had done in the past. Loved that it came with the caliper hangers, so I didn't have to go searching for a wire hanger to use. This is a great buy! Try this product. You will thank me.

Tool did not perform as expected. Did not retract dual piston truck calipers. ratching action failed and got stuck in caliper. Had to resort back to 2 c-clamp method (one for each piston)
