Pocket Oxford Latin Dictionary

This book is a great help! I am doing both Italian (for which I have the Oxford dictionary and now the Latin) for Duolingo. They are both well worth the price.

Font and entry style are overlooked by users of many dictionaries, but the clear printing and entry style of this dictionary make it much easier to use than even my English dictionary. The definition length is well-balanced with the conciseness I need while still giving a proper sense of the word. Although dictionaries may seem a bland topic, I strongly recommend the Pocket Oxford Latin Dictionary as the best print dictionary I have used and the easiest.

I use this product for my university study of latin and so far, I've found it to contain the information I needed in a very easy-to-get-an-overview of form, which makes the time I have to spend on finding something significantly shorter. All in all a very satisfying product.

The first time I tried to order this package it did not arrive, so I contacted customer support to see what was up. The rep. was super-understanding and considerate, offering me a choice between a refund or a having a new copy shipped to my address. I opted for the latter and it just arrived today in perfect condition. The product itself is what you'd expect. A great tool for learning Latin.

Has three main sections: (1) Latin to English Entries sometimes have little accompanying explanatory boxes explaining odd or special cases. Very useful. (2) Grammar Contains all the noun, adjective, advert, and verb forms, as well as listing some bits and pieces regarding irregulars. Also the tables for ille and hic. (3) English to Latin I found it more than adequate for my examination. Good value and portable.

I love how it's clearly legible. The font type is easy on the eye and the font size too is quite good. It's not like the pockets dictionaries where you struggle to read what it says. I love how it is an old edition, cream paper, proper paper and in top notch condition. The only down fall is that it isn't thicker or doesn't contains more pages.

Although buying this second hand, this dictionary was not in as good a condition as described by the seller. It is very used and dog-eared and not worth what was charged. Content wise, it is excellent and very useful indeed.

Easy to use. Arrived quickly and as described. Pocket is not a good description as it is the size of a hardback book but very clear typeface and useful notes.

I bought this dictionary as I'm taking a Latin course and it's a necessity to have at least one, this little dictionary has everything you need to quickly find any words you need to translate. The dictionary also has a grammar and pronunciation section, which is a plus.

It’s a good, practical and easy to use/carry around dictionary. It’s not as exhaustive as bigger/ more expensive editions but it’s enough for pupils.

Li em algum lugar que este não era um dicionário de bolso. É verdade, não o é. Mas como nunca coloquei nenhum livro nos meus bolsos, acho que basta. A seção de latim-inglês é boa, mas a de inglês-latim é pereba. Não dá para saber a qual paradigma de declinação uma palavra pertence. Se não for muito bom em latim -- e pra que se usa um dicionário se uma pessoa for muito boa? -- vai ter problemas com essa parte.
