Guardians of the Galaxy Deluxe Edition

Perfect music if you want to get a nice record with some of the best hits from the 1960s and 1970s from different artists. This is it. I love the movie but I almost only use Awesome Mix vol 1 record and not the movie Score 2nd record. Even better is this record has stayed available for like 5+ years as i've bought it 3 times now. I'm usually pretty rough on it since i know its cheap and readily available. Or i'll leave it out and people who aren't familiar with how to care for records mess with em (nbd). I'll say this probably matters for some. This 3rd time buying it, the listing picture still shows 2 black vinyl but my first vinyl was red and my 2nd was yellow. I actually was pretty happy with the surprise because i like a splash of color on the records. But I'm sure the opposite is true of others so bear in mind it might not be black vinyls. I'd post pictures but thats work.

I contemplated only purchasing the soundtrack but decided to get this version with both the soundtrack and the score. I do NOT regret that decision. Obviously, if you love Guardians of the Galaxy, you're a fan of the Awesome Mix(es), but the score is very well done and the mix is perfect on this album. My girlfriend was dancing around to "Come and Get Your Love" earlier today - and when "O-o-h Child" came on, she challenged me to a dance-off to save the universe. Joking aside, this is well worth it for the score as well since the main theme is on point. Tyler Bates isn't as well-known as some composers in the MCU (namely, Alan Silvestri and Danny Elfman) but he nails it. An interesting thing to note is that rather than scoring the movie after filming/editing, Gunn had Bates score before filming and his direction followed the musical cues. They would even play the score on set to inspire the cast and crew! This is almost unheard of in the film industry but it allowed Bates to score the pieces he wanted instead of being limited by editing choices or forced to compose based on dreaded 'temp tracks'. And that tells us everything we need to know about why the score is so well written.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Deluxe Edition Vinyl is a fantastic addition to my collection. The soundtrack is packed with classic hits, and the pressing is top-notch, delivering rich sound quality. The deluxe packaging with artwork and extras adds a nice touch. A must-have for movie and music lovers alike!

Of course it is entirely my own fault for not reading the track list, but I was surprised to find the score on the second disc. Beautifully composed and performed, but not something that I like listening to. If I had realized that it was the score, I would have gone for the regular version. The 'mixtape' record is awesome, a great playlist.

This is THE penultimate sound track to listen to. The only reason to buy this album is to experience it in vinyl and believe me it’s worth it. It’s a two record set; the first record having all the songs we live from the movie and found in the order we experienced them in the movie. The second record is the movie score, also cool. What would have made this album even more worth it was extras the album could have had in it. I would have settled for a guardians poster.

Classic songs and wicked packaging. Awesome to have on vinyl. You get the movie score and the soundtrack too. Totally worth it and a must have for any Guardians fan.
