The instructions were clear and a middle school leveled student pulled off an experiment flawlessly with the gel. She used brown rice water to help set the gel so that way there are nutrients the bacteria can live off of. I won’t lie, it seemed like it could have been too much but I’m highly impressed with how durable and high quality it turned out. Great value for your money as we only used a small portion of the powder so far, not even a 1/4 of it gone and 12 dishes were filled and successfully yielded bacterial growth after swabbing. There was no strong smell either so that was a plus.

Works well, directions are simple. Makes a very solid structure, and reasonably clear.

It's a simple product, but I've had bad Agar before. All you have to do is follow the simple recipe on bottle and your plates will be perfect every time. I use brown rice for grain spawn, so after I do the 2 minute boil on the rice I literally just take the rice water and mix it with the Agar Agar and I get the strongest, healthiest plates I've ever seen. Simple, fast and efficient.

Good quality worked great for what we needed it for. It mixed well and poured and set up right. It really did not have a strong smell and was easy to clean up. It helped our budding scientist with his learning what sinks have the most bacteria at school.

Easily enough powder to make 100 if not more petri dishes. Glad I bought the scientific grade.
