I am really excited to start using this Shatvari powder. It's in a very large, 12oz bag. It was double bagged so the product inside is extremely fresh and finely ground. This is an organic product and is a widely used remedy in Ayurvedic medicine. It's an adaptogen that helps balance hormones in the body. It is also very beneficial when applied topically. It can provide good emollient benefits, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, promotes wound healing and prevents the breakdown of collagen especially in aging skin. I am going to use this powder in some of my skincare recipes. I just made an oil infusion with this powder. It dissolved really well, no clumps. Once it infuses for a few weeks, I will add the strained oil to my moisturizer for aging skin. I am really excited to try this out. I have always been fascinated by Ayurvedic herbs and I am just finally getting around to trying them. It is, in fact, the oldest medical system so it has a long track record of safety and reliability.

When I bought this, I thought I was gonna get the sticks but instead I got a powdery powder. I rushed to buy it and I guess I didn’t read that it was powder so I put it in drinks and smoothies, and works great.

Shatavari, a type of asparagus, is a traditional Indian herb, and my girlfriend takes it and enjoys the benefits. This powder tastes pretty decent, although it does obviously have an "herbal" type taste. This company claims to be certified USDA organic, and also have FSCC 22000 certification. That is apparently a food safety certification. I don't see anything about GMP standards, but those two are good to know. Overall, this seems to be solid, affordable shatavari powder.

This is my first time using shatavari. I take a lot of supplements, including a couple ground Ayurvda powders. I thought I was going to love this one since the powder looked pretty fresh. But I don't like the taste at all. When I mix it in water as the directions recommend, the powder made a big dirty oily mark on the glass and on the top of the water itself. To me, it looks and tastes like drinking a mud puddle (I still remember when I fell in one as a kid, LOL). I had difficulty swallowing a second sip of this too, and had to toss the rest down the drain. The powder doesn't dissolve, it just remains suspended in an oily mark in the water. I tried "letting it soak in the glass" for a couple hours, and then stirred and re-tried, but the product remained suspended instead of dissolving, and the taste was the most unpleasant I've tried to consume in some time. I tried to mix it with a flavored electrolyte drink for more palatability, but had to just dump all of that out. I really wish the package gave directions for using this powder topically instead of having to swallow it, so I'm searching the internet to find directions how to use this in a mask since I can't swallow it.
