I bought this sunscreen in June 2013 (about a year ago) for a China trip after reading about the risks of using chemical sunscreen, and have been using this ever since. First, it does make me feel safer knowing that, after using this sunscreen, I would have a thin physical barrier on my skin rather than having chemicals absorbed into my bloodstream. Second, it's nice to know I don't have to wait for 20 minutes to let the sunscreen do its job. In terms of effectiveness, I have spent hours outside after putting this on and have not gotten sunburned (but I also don't think I burn very easily in the first place). Each day after washing my face, I put on this sunscreen because I'm one of those people paranoid of getting wrinkles in the future. I have semi-oily skin, but it doesn't make my face feel oilier or give me acne. It actually prevents my face from feeling dry after using my cleanser, and my skin is noticeably softer compared to on the days I don't apply sunscreen. I'm not too sure how waterproof it is, I haven't tried applying it before/after swimming. But I do know that it rinses off easily after applying to your skin, so I definitely recommend at least waiting a while before getting in the water. The texture is like the texture of any other sunscreen. The only time it got runny was when I was in China in the summer, and that was probably due to the heat. A quick fix is just to shake the bottle before using it. It doesn't make my skin feel chalky except for the insides of my hands, which I just rinse after putting on the sunscreen. Doesn't give you a sunscreen smell after using it. LEARN HOW TO APPLY CHEMICAL-FREE SUNSCREEN! A lot of reviews talk about how this sunscreen makes your skin pale, but that's only if you apply more than needed. For your face, you only need a dab of sunscreen. For your arms and legs use about one to two tablespoon of sunscreen. If you use the same amount of sunscreen you usually do for chemical sunscreens, you'll end up looking about 5 shades paler than usual! Also, dab equal amounts over equal various areas of your skin. For example, if you're putting this sunscreen on your arm, make sure you first dab a little bit along your forearm and underarm and then spread rather than putting a whole splotch on one area and trying to spreading it across the rest of your arm. Try not to get it in your hair or in your clothes because the white splotch will just stay there unless you rinse/rub it off. Bottom line, really digging this sunscreen.

Great product! Fast delivery from Mexico to Canada. If you plan to swim with the sea turtles or swim in a cenote you have to respect the request of the agencies who are preserving the wildlife. Use biodegradable and non-toxic products if your snorkeling or swimming there.

First and foremost, this isn't Coppertone sunscreen. Before you fire off a bad review after slathering it on you need to pay attention and understand how this product works. This product is a physical barrier sunscreen. So those that say it feels like it isn't soaking in, or that it leaves streaks, or it washes off...guess what? It won't totally soak in, it leaves streaks if you apply it wrong, and it does wash off. That's the idea, it's a lotion with tiny particles of zinc and titanium in it that block the sun. Other sunscreens soak in because they're chemical barrier sunscreens (which BTW leads to harmful substances soaking into your blood stream). I'll admit those dry touch spray on sunscreens are quicker and more convenient, but my health is worth a few minutes of application of this stuff. So if you don't like a sunscreen that doesn't totally soak in, has a slight white sheen to it, needs reapplication after getting wet...do yourself a favor and find something else. If you want a moisturizing sunscreen that is safe to use, won't mess up your hormone balance, won't give you cancer later in life, and don't mind sacrificing a little convenience then buy away. As others have posted, here are some tips to get the most out of this product... 1. A little goes a long way - if you glob, you'll end up streaky and white 2. Only rub until the color disappears - if you keep rubbing it begins to ball up and flake off 3. Apply BEFORE going out - usually about 15-20 minutes to let it soak in a bit 4. Re-apply after getting wet - it's water resistant, not waterproof One final thought. Many countries outlaw mainstream sunscreen because they kill coral reefs. Yet we use those products everyday. Read labels, do some research, be informed, and stay healthy!

It really takes patience to evenly apply this sunblock. It helps to keep thinking of the beautiful wild life while applying... do it for them.

I wanted to love this sunscreen because I've read that its all-natural formula is much healthier than typical sunscreen formula. The problem for me was that when I wore this, my skin was pasty white -- I looked like I was on death's door. I tried rubbing the sunscreen in better, and initially the pasty white seemed to go away, but when I returned from biking, the pasty white had somehow reappeared. I gave this sunscreen one more try, the second time using much less, but I still had pasty white skin at the end of my activity. I believe the sunscreen does its job well -- it protects my skin, but I will only be using it when working or playing outside by myself and don't care much about my appearance.
