Tower T22008 CeraGlide Cordless Steam Iron with Ceramic Soleplate and Variable Steam Function, 2400 W, Purple

Ahhh, freedom - well not from ironing itself, but from that flipping cable, that's too thick and curly and way too short. This iron heats up even quicker than a normal cabled one. It's super smooth and removes wrinkles and creases with little effort. It actually makes the ironing slightly more enjoyable. Moving from zero to one on the ironing Richter scale might not be a huge leap, but as an 'ironingphobe' that's an enormous improvement. It's really light weight which helps with the Rheumatism and Arthritis in my hands. It had the largest water tank of all the cordless ones I saw, which means less refilling. The price was good, got it on an offer. It's also good quality. Not sure in the long term how it will fare as I've only used it once so far, but all in all a decent piece of kit.

Good iron, easy to use, works very well, good value for money

This iron is useful as it can be used as both locked to the electric base like a standard iron or unlocked from the base and used as a cordless iron. If using as cordless, yes you may need to wait a little longer sometimes for it to heat up but the benefit is it is cordless. The iron is light and work well for my needs. I don’t use steam when ironing so cannot comment on this. The fact you can keep it attached to the base and use as a normal corded iron was important to me and ideal at times. The cord is a little shorter than I would’ve liked but it’s ok for me as I just move nearer the plug socket. The one disappointment with this iron design is that I keep knocking the temperature dial when I pick up the iron as it moves round too easily, the dial needs to be a little stiffer. I’ll live with it but it is a bit of a pain.

Had this iron for a while now and its brilliant. I've spent a fortune on irons in the past and they have broken easily or not lasted as well as they should have for the price. I was in desperate need of an iron as my last Phillips iron went kaput unexpectedly, I saw this and went for it and I'm so glad I did. I didnt expect anything special especially with such a low price tag, however it irons much better than the previously mentioned more expensive irons! The cable isn't massively long but being it can be used cableless too it doesn't really matter. Temp gauge is very accurate and the self clean feature works great! Great steam power too!! Lovely quality and still going strong after over a year of nearly daily usage! What more could you want for such a great price?!

Heats up quickly, love the handle, how it glides and the cordless plus corded combo. And the price!

The dial is hard to read because it's under the handle, it works OK, not heavy, quite large

Love the fact that it's cordless, definitely makes ironing in my tiny kitchen (on the table using an ironing mat) a lot easier. The cable is long enough to reach from the wall to the table without my having to move the table, better by far than my corded iron. Good - charging is quick, recharging happens every time the iron goes back on the stand when moving the position of the garment or between garments. Nice weight, not too heavy or so light I need to push down hard. Glides over the clothes, easy to use. Downsides - cord storage is difficult. There is a fastening but it's tricky to use, well nigh impossible for those of us with arthritis. Needs to be stored flat, on a cloth so as not to damage the soleplate, so takes up more room. I find it difficult to decide where the position of the dial should be - I assume its where there is a raised purple line but its difficult to see as it's purple on purple. Doesn't quite get up to the heat expected - I use it a setting higher than it recommends.

good iron and bauble use

This iron is great. I bought a UK to Australian plug adapter to use with the iron. It heats up quickly when in cordless mode. I used it to iron linen tea-towels and it was better than my corded iron. Will be recommending to family and friends.

Works great and is easy to use. Charges quick as inbetween uses and got here quick. Only thing is it didn't come with a UK to AUS power adapter like the seller claimed so make sure you have one on hand if you purchase this! Apart from that hiccup though it works great!
