Excellent device!
I've been using this product for almost two weeks now. Overall, it's a great value for the money. The wireless Apple CarPlay connection is fast and stable for daily commuting (music, navigation, and calls). The 4K dashcam provides clear video footage, and the 1080p backup camera is a useful added feature. The screen is responsive, but it can be a bit reflective in direct sunlight. The built-in speaker is adequate for navigation prompts, but I still connected it to my car's audio system for music playback. Installation was also very simple. I recommend it to anyone looking to add smart features to their older car.

This product really works!
First and foremost - it works. Before tearing my dashboard and center console apart or cutting any wiring, I set it up on the passenger seat, plugged it in, and tried it out. If it sounded crappy or was difficult to use, I had nothing to lose except the time it would take to pack it back up and return it, but it worked flawlessly and sounds great. There is a short period of trying this and that, but it set up easily and it sounds excellent. Bluetooth to my iPhone was easy and stable. I own an older BMW…too early for backup cameras and high tech app usage. It’s sort of a unique vehicle so I will be keeping it for the foreseeable future. However, I wanted some better level of infotainment system. My car came with a Harman Kardon sound system and I connected this player via the AUX port so the sound transfer was perfect (better than using a random FM channel or Bluetooth). The sound is excellent and it is easy to use. So once I knew it worked, I started planning how to mount it. The suction cup/arm combination is sturdy and will stick to almost anything, but each vehicle is different and you’ll really need to play with it to decide where it fits best in your car. In my car, dashboard mounting wasn’t practical. I sit low, so if I mounted it on my dashboard, it would block my view somewhat. After trying a lot of dry-fit locations, I found a spot at the very front of my center console, forward of the shift lever that worked very well for me. While parked, I can’t easily access the touch screen, but once you put the car in D, the screen access is perfectly fine. If you have a standard shift, this might not work. For me…it was perfect. With this mount, I admittedly can’t use the embedded front facing camera, but I’ll accept that sacrifice. I found a flat panel space on the bottom section of the dash where it meets the center console, and the sticky pads that come with this unit worked perfectly. To stop the bottom from sliding around or wobbling, I used a short strip of 3M VHB double sided tape on the bottom of the unit and it’s as solid as a rock. The rear view camera was also a challenge. Again….all cars are different, but it took me 3 hours to properly fish the wire through the trunk floor, into the back seat, under the rear center console, under the front console, and to the place where the unit sits. I also had to do some finagling to get access to the backup light wiring so I could tap into it for power to the camera. If you’re not comfortable doing this type of work, try to hire someone who is experienced with car stereos and go that route. On that note…I did not use the provided rear view camera. I bought one that was specific to my model car, which is integrated into the trunk handle. It looks factory and works perfectly (found it here on Amazon). This installation of a nice CarPlay unit was a purchase that totaled about $160 all in ($119 for this unit, $35 for the backup camera). A shop in my area wanted nearly $1000 to install a similar product. I’m about $840 on the up side, so it was a win. It required about 6 hours all in to install, but I saved myself some money and have an infotainment system that brings my car into the present.

Great CarPlay Screen — Perfect Gift for My Sister!
just received the Madoec Portable 9” Apple CarPlay Screen, and so far I’m really impressed. I bought it for my sister, and she loves it! The wireless Apple CarPlay works smoothly, and the Android Auto compatibility is a nice bonus. The screen is bright and clear, and the 4K dash cam along with the 1080p backup camera makes driving and parking much easier and safer. Bluetooth, FM, and GPS navigation all work well, and Siri voice commands are responsive. Installation was straightforward, and the device feels solid and well-built. Overall, a fantastic gift for anyone looking to upgrade their car’s infotainment system — my sister is already enjoying it!

Love this Carplay screen.
Super easy to install and works great right out of the box. The 9 inch screen is clear, responsive and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connects fast every time. It instantly made my older car feel modern. The 4K dash cam is nice, the backup camera is clear and super helpful when parking. Audio sounds good through Bluetooth or FM and calls are clear. Siri works smoothly too.Definitely recommend if your car doesn’t have CarPlay built in.

Good overall but could be great with some minor improvements
This is a nice unit to add CarPlay functionality to any 12 volt vehicle. The CarPlay functionality works perfectly and it connects to an iPhone phone quickly and automatically each time after the initial pairing. The display and image quality is very nice. The camera image quality, both the built in front camera and attachable backup camera, is also very good. Areas of improvement: 1. The screen responsiveness is good but sometimes an icon needs to be pressed more than once to be recognized. 2. The CarPlay functionality is great but the Wi-Fi AirPlay and streaming (mirroring) is slow and choppy on my unit. It is almost unusable due to the latency and chop. Improving this area would help with the mirroring and streaming experience overall. Along with improving AirPlay streaming quality and latency on this unit, there are two more enhancements that would make this an excellent unit overall and take it to 5 stars. 1. When using AirPlay, the unit should automatically rotate the mirrored content from portrait to landscape mode and display things in landscape mode by default when possible... after all its a horizontal monitor/display unit. Having an option to enable this auto landscape mode functionality would be a nice feature. 2. It would be nice if the unit could render the landscape mode content to utilize the full display size on the unit. There are still some black bars on the sides of the AirPlay mirrored content when you manually rotate your iPhone to landscape mode. Nice item at a fair price overall. Excellent for just CarPlay functionality. Airplay and mirroring could use some improvements for better functionality and experience.

Great buy for my older camper van!
Have used this in my 1999 Coachman camper van for a few weeks over the last six months. Surprised it seems to be fair quality since there is no manufacturer mark other than made in China. Had trouble finding a head unit to fit the van’s stereo space. My mechanic suggested buying a unit like this as an alternative. At $114 bucks I said why not.,so glad I did. Unit was easy to install on the dash and connects via an aux port cable, blue tooth or FM radio. Didn’t have Bluetooth or and aux port so I have been using the FM option. There is a little low volume static from the FM tuner when nothing is playing but sounds pretty good when the tunes are on., backup camera works great and can be on all the time if you can’t see out the back through the rear view mirror. Touch screen is very responsive and Apple play and google/apple map navigation works like a charm. Not sure of the longevity of this unit but if it lasts a few years I will be thrilled as it was a low cost solution to my old van - stereo issue.

modern features without changing the whole car, this works well.
I was tired of using my phone for maps and music while driving. The screen was too small and kept sliding around, which felt sketchy. I wanted something safer and easier to see without replacing my whole radio. This setup was my attempt to fix that problem. From a guy point of view, it was pretty simple to get going. The screen connects wirelessly and pops up maps and music right away. The display is clear and way easier to glance at than my phone. Having the backup camera view helps more than I thought it would. There are a couple small cons though. The screen is bright at night so you have to adjust it. Setup takes a little time the first go around. The speakers are fine but not amazing, so I still use my car audio. Overall it does what I wanted it to do. Driving feels easier and less annoying now. It is not fancy or built in looking, just useful. For guys who want modern features without changing the whole car, this works well.

THE BEST THING TO GET IF YOU HAVE AN OLDER CAR!
A fantastic product: I have a 2003 Toyota Highlander, which has an outdated touch screen that is small and only works intermittently, including my Bluetooth speaker connections. I LOVE this device; it was super easy to install. I haven't set up the rear camera yet, as I don't know how to connect the red wire to my backup light (I will get this done at the shop). The backup camera is just one of the reasons I bought this item. The screen is large, excellent resolution, it quickly connected to my iPhone; a LOT of the apps from my phone are on the screen, and it even has voice command for hands-free texting, I can answer my phone on the touch screen in a nano-second. I had been using the little screen on my phone to use WAZE. NOW I use this device, and I can SEE the map easily without having to squint at the small screen of my phone. It AUTO connects for me, so when I get into the car, it starts my Pandora station AND my WAZE is on display as well, it's very satisfying not to have to position my phone, start my Pandora, and turn on my portable Bluetooth speaker. The arm/holder is adjustable, so I dropped it down to below the dashboard level (I already have a Dash CAM, so I don't need to use that function). It's low enough that it doesn't block my view, and I even angled it to face the driver. It has an internal speaker, which is a big plus, but it's not great. I will get my radio working to listen to the high-end speakers already in my car; until then, I will be happy to have an automatic "on" function (one of the days my radio decided to work, it automatically connected to this CarPlay Screen and I could jam out to my music through the car speakers). If ONLY there was a way to read the screen without taking my sunglasses off. In that case, I guess that is just the nature of the beast (if you angle your head just right, it can be read with the sunglasses on, but it feels awkward). I am getting the screen protector as the greasy fingerprints were really distracting. Overall, I am VERY pleased with this product.
