This is so awesome!
So my box arrives today and I'm like a kid on Christmas morning. I literally drop everything I'm doing and go install these things. The mere thought that I could upgrade my 15-year-old doors for so little money, and not need professional installation, was very exciting for me. And really, it still is. This is likely the best $100 I've ever spent.Installation is a snap. Plug the controller into your ethernet, create an account and add the controller to it. Download the app and get busy installing the switches on the wall. Just two wires and you're in business. There is a slight delay after install, maybe two minutes, before you can add the switch to the app, but after that you're in business opening your old-school doors via the Internet with your smartphone.I love this product, it works great, and despite the minor criticism I'm about to offer, it's still worth every bit of 5-stars to me.So what could be better? Well, wifi for one. I was surprised to see that it requires an ethernet connection. But on a positive note, the range of the controller is excellent. I have my controller about as far away as I possibly could from my switches and it still works perfectly. So not a big deal at all. Also, I wonder if the controller is even necessary. If you put wifi in the switches you could likely eliminate the controller altogether. But these really aren't problems for me at all. So no deductions of stars for me on these issues.Other reviewers have commented on inefficiency of the motion sensors to control the lights. I'm not sure where I stand on that issue. They aren't working great for me, but it's likely a matter of location. So again, no deduction of stars. But I have turned them off. And, for me, they just aren't required anyway. It's a cool idea, but so not important to me.Another reviewer commented on the loud "beeping" that occurs on auto-close and closing via the app. I see his point, but I don't feel that it's all that loud. And it's a safety feature that I do like. Sure, it's a little bit annoying if you are standing there listening to it, but the idea is that you aren't there when these sounds are being made. And not a lot of people are accustomed to doors shutting automatically, and unattended.I do think the timing on the auto-close is a bit limited and short-sighted. I would have liked to see something in the 3-minute range as an option. I believe 1-minute to be a bit short, and the 5 & 10-minute options entirely too long. And this is a feature that I love. It's a fantastic bonus on top of a product that I'm very happy with. It's not by any means perfect, but it's easy, affordable, and it works perfectly. I'm very happy with my purchase despite the room for improvement.

Easy and cheap way to add MyQ technology to an older Liftmaster Forumla 1 garage door opener
We have had a pair of Liftmaster Forumla 1 garage door openers (with the purple learn button) for about 9 years. Openers have worked fine, but there's been more than one time where I've been unsure whether I remembered to close the garage door and had to drive back home to verify it was closed, or actually close it. A while ago I hooked up a webcam to monitor the garage doors in the hopes it would cut down on the number of unnecessary trips back home, but that ended up causing wireless interference that prevented the garage door remotes from working. Great that I can see that the door is open or closed, but if I can't close the doors when I'm less than 15 feet away, it's useless.I had been hearing that garage door openers with MyQ technology could let you know if you left the garage door was open and remotely close it, so I finally did some research and found that it could be easily added to my existing garage door openers without any major work. Basically just replace the existing control panels with new ones and install an internet gateway that wirelessly talks to the new panels. I puchased this kit, plus an extra 888LM panel for the second garage door opener, and had it all installed and running in less than 15 minutes. Some things to note:1) The loud beeping that people complain about when you remotely close the door is a safety feature. It's there to warn people that the door is about to close. If you use the control panel or the remote, it doesn't beep when the door closes because presumably you are present to make sure there are no obstructions.2) The motion sensor for the lights can be turned off.3) You don't have to enable the autoclosing feature on the control panel.4) if you have an iPhone with Touch ID enabled, it makes it much easier to login each time to the app to check the status of things. No more problems with the app logging you out. I've had no trouble getting into the app or connecting to get status.5) If you use the Learn button on the control panel to add replacement remotes, the replacement remotes must be Security+2.0 ones. Otherwise you'll need to use the learn buttons on your older garage door openers. I don't know if Homelink enabled cars will need to use the Learn button on the garage door opener or if they can use the control panel Learn button.

Another Piece of Mind brought by Technology!
Love this product and the idea behinds it. It has always been on my mind that I left my garage door open due to my absent mind (old age), but have no way to check if I did or not. I have a lot of expensive tools and equipment in it, so I have concerned that I leave the area exposed. Now I can monitor the garage door when it opens and close, and can remotely open or close it. Another piece of mind brought by updated technology.Installation of the panel was super easy... much easier than I had expected. Changing 2 wires took all but 3 minutes to do. The installation of the remote unit was a little longer, and that was due to hunting for a port on my switch box. All in all, straight forward installation and there were many videos on YouTube on this. I did see a few of them before purchasing the product so I had some advanced knowledge of the installation. Everything works the first time out, and the garage door is now under remote control and supervision all the time. The app has a function to warn me when the garage door is open, which is super handy. Turn this option on when leaving the home to monitor the unexpected opening of the garage door. Turn if off when you're home so the app won't ping you when you go in and out of the garage. This is also added a security feature to the garage door in that you can open it if the car remote doesn't work. I particularly like the auto closure function so if I forget to close it, the unit will auto close the door at a preset time. Great product to have and I recommend this to anyone who has a garage door opener.

Installed quickly and it works
I was looking for a solution to ensure my garage door would not stay open all night. A month ago, on two mornings, I discover that my garage door was open all night - scary! The Liftmaster MyQ Package installed easily and works great. I have a Chamberlain door opener with a Chamberlain push button beside the door into the house. The Liftmaster button replaced the old button - two wires to move from the old to the new - 1 minute install. Has a great timer that can be set to close door after 1, 5, or 10 minutes. I set mine to 5 minutes and it works great. If the door closing is interrupted, like when the cat runs through the safety sensor beam, the door will restart the countdown then close 5 minutes later. I also installed the MyQ Internet gateway. Now I can monitor the door with my phone, get alerts and set schedules to close the door. Using the app, the gateway installed easily and worked first time. Not hard to be happy - it installed quickly and it works. No more door open all night.

Works great
Easy to setup and use. Controls garage door remotely with MyQ app easily and able to set reminders when garage door has been open for specific amount of time. App also shows you how long the garage door was last open. Auto close function is on the garage door closer itself is also great as it smartly knows when the garage door is open and closes it after the specific time period you want. It also has the manual function to hold the garage door open. Together with the reminder that can be setup to let you know that the garage door is open, even if you accidentally forgot to release the hold garage door function, you will still be reminded. Also this unit doesn’t need any other sensors attached to the garage door when used with my chamberlain garage door.I had a other automatic garage door closer with a sensor on the garage door I geeked before that always incorrectly detected when the garage door was already closed and would open it! This unit doesn’t have any of those issues.

Products were easy to install and worked without issue
Products were easy to install and worked without issue. If you have an existing Liftmaster panel you should be able to use the same screws/mount.If you are a Wink user these products work with the app, sign up for MyQ with Liftmaster and just add them as Chamberlain in Wink. I love getting the notifications and being able to open with a phone. The motion detector and timer to close are a great addition I wasn't looking for.
