Very clear and concise details for getting a plan ahead of time. Highly recommended.

If you’re serving our country on active duty in the US military, get Cheryl Cross’, book, “Civilian, Mission: The 3-Year Guide for Military Professionals, Planning Civilian Careers.” Having spent 25 years in talent acquisition with most of that time helping transitioning military professionals move into civilian careers, I’ve read a number of books and articles on the subject. However, this is the first I have seen that starts the planning and preparation three years out. Cheryl does an outstanding job of building a roadmap to a successful military to civilian career, and I especially like how she included exercises to reinforce the information and value behind the guidance she provides in this book. If you want to lower the stress of the transition from the military to the civilian workforce, get “Civilian Mission” and follow her guidance.
