Works when weather stripping doesn’t!
I bought this because my doors were slightly warped and I could never get a seal with any other weather stripping. This is easy to install and works perfectly, just don’t put too much pressure when installing you just want it touching the door so it doesn’t affect the locking mechanism. Would highly recommend for old houses or doors!

The best weather stripping I've ever purchased.
Someone once erroneously pointed out that most of my reviews are 5 stars. Well, there's a reason for that. I usually don't write up a review unless it's really great or truly bad. This product, however, is one I am really excited about. I saw some creases between my door jamb and the door and after some research, I bought this product because of all the rave reviews.I am totally satisfied with it.Pros:1. Easy to installWell, the hardest part was cutting the metal(aluminum) to fit the door. I had to go to Lowes to find the right tool for it because none of my ordinary tools would suffice. Lowes was great enough to cut it for me for free. After that, all I had to do was close the door and slightly push the weather stripping against the door and screw them in to the jamb.2. EffectiveNow, the immediate area has become much warmer thanks to the lack of cold air coming in. I can really feel the difference. It also looks great!Con:There's really none that I can think of ... oh... getting it cut, perhaps? You won't regret the purchase. I'm just glad I got it done before the cold winter settled in.

Infinitely better than hardware store weather stripping
This stuff is the answer to all the inferior hardware store products that just aren't compressible enough to work properly. It might be almost twice as expensive, but since it actually works the added cost is pretty much irrelevant. Most of the generic weather stripping available comes with a harder rubber that doesn't compress nearly enough to seal gaps in a door with even a tiny bit of warping and ends up doing absolutely nothing aside from simply making the door hard to close. The M-D compression stripping is similar to what I've seen installed on new doors: curved foam with a vinyl covering that's softer offers a much larger effective compression range. This makes it much easier to install on warped doors as it doesn't have to be screwed in place to the exact millimeter in order to make sure the door closes normally. Also, since it bulges sideways onto the door as it compresses, it offers a much better seal than other products. I can't speak to durability yet, but so far I'm convinced that this is the stuff to get if your door doesn't have built-in channels for the other style of weather stripping.

Very happy with this choice
I have an older house that has some settling, causing the doors to close less snugly than they once did, and causing gaps where cold air comes in. I have tried other weather stripping to no avail so decided to try this based on favorable reviews here on Amazon. It is very easy to install and does the trick. I like it so much that I ordered a second one for another exterior door. I did have to tweak it a little with a hack saw to allow for the screen door closer that is attached to the door frame where this thing would also attach. The metal is easy enough to cut that I was able to cut out a little notch on the metal part to accommodate the screws for the screen door closer. My reason for giving it 4 rather than 5 stars is that some of us who are less experienced with home maintenance could benefit from a clear diagram. I wasn't sure where to put this thing initially. The diagram on Amazon makes no sense to me whatsoever.

Easy to install and works great.
I initially bought some weather stripping from a local hardware store, but after only a few days, it started to jam the door. It was from Frost King and the seal part was not very flexible at all, which made it difficult to install and create a good seal. It also started to stick to the paint on the door which caused the seal to partially rip out making it impossible to close the door again. So I ripped it all out and decided to look at Amazon for a better design. This product was exactly what I was looking for. The seal is very flexible and is able to compress quite a bit so the installation was a breeze because you didn't have to get it exactly at the right location relative to the door. The seal's outer sheath seems to be made from teflon which prevents it from sticking to the door's paint. The extruded aluminum railing is substantially stiffer than the other product I picked up at the local hardware store. The only negative was that it was slightly bent during shipping since it's so long. It wasn't a big deal since I was able to bend it back enough. It took about 45 minutes to install. Measure, cut rail with hacksaw, debur ends with a metal file, cut seal with scissors, and install using the included screws. My advice is to stay away from the Frost King weather stripping and get this instead.

This is the weather stripping you've been looking for
This is truly the best weather stripping. I've replaced all of my older type in the last 2 years with this stuff. It has a nice, wide flexible seal and the metal strip is attached solidly. Just a note on color - I have been looking for this brand at local stores and online in black for a long time with no luck until I read a review on here that the "bronze" color is really more like black. I ordered it and I have to agree - it really looks more like a flat black or as they sometimes call it "oiled bronze" for hardware - worked out perfect for me.

2 units screws for 1 unit
I love the product, I ordered 2ea, but only got the screws for 1 so I put both sets up with limited screws, called M-D products and talked to someone there, they said no problem and that they would send me some more screws that's been 3 weeks ago......Product great customer service a little shaky. Just not sure where I can find screws to match.

Normally our front door is pretty drafty since the house has shifted around the frame
Bucked up and bought these after using the foam tape for a couple years. Normally our front door is pretty drafty since the house has shifted around the frame; to the point our screen door ends up freezing and looking the like "The Wall" from GoT. With these seals on though we don't feel any draft or coldness within our entry way including the -40°C days we've had this year!

Terrible condition, unable to use and have to pay to return.
This item came to us bent at a 45 degree angle, with paint missing on it. Not only can we not use it due to the harsh bend which warped the metal, but in order to receive a refund I have to pay to ship it back.. the kicker, the cost of shipping ($96) costs more than the actual product. What an awful shopping experience.
