C-Reactive Protein CRP-Test (1 Test) Rapid at-Home-Test

I'm happy that my recent test was negative. I have just recovered from a bad chest infection, and it's good to know nothing remains apart from fatigue. In this busy world, it's difficult to line up for doctor's appointments, wait for blood test appointments, and then wait for results versus something so simple as home testing. I just found the whole process simple and reassuring. I would do this again in the future. I think it would be a good idea to have these kits in a medical cabinet, just in case. Having the results in hand can save a lot of time when visiting the GP for help afterwards.

Tests like these facilitate our ability to diagnose or at least direct our needs at home. The test is very straightforward and quick to carry out. The results are easy to read and with only 5 mins waiting time. Ideal for checking in on my health or in response to symptoms. Very good value too.

Thankfully my test showed a negative result and this assures me that I am not carrying an infection or inflammation. The test is relatively easy to use by pricking the finger which only causes a small sting to the finger tip and drawing some blood via the small pipette which is in a sealed packet. The test cassette is also in a sealed packet. After drawing the blood you simply put this into the small bottle and give it a shake for 10 seconds to mix the solution. Put 3 drops onto the test window on the cassette and wait 5 minutes or is it 10 minutes? This is where the information/instructions are confusing and conflicting. The enclosed instructional leaflet which is produced with English, German, Swedish and Danska says that the test should be read at 5 minutes and not be read after 6 minutes. The box however seems to tell you that the result is ready at 10 minutes. This is very confusing for the user. So I read the result at 5 minutes AND 10 minutes just in case lol. Thankfully like I said the result is negative. The test kit arrives in a box that is stamped with a lot number and expiry date and is easy to use. The conflicting information does however need to be rectified by the manufacturer. If you get a positive result this may indicate that you need to consult your GP for further investigation work and possibly antibiotic treatment dependant on which infection you have. Some may be more apparent such as water infections and the test may just help to reinforce what you think. Some infections could be in their early stages but none the less this test could show this up for quicker treatment. I think the price is a tad expensive at just under £20 at time of review for 1 test kit. The kit is however reassuring for me considering last year I was prone to several infections including a severe kidney infection so this test has helped to assure me that I'm on the right path to being inflammation and infection free at the moment.

It’s not always easy to get a doctors appointment, so doing home tests could be the way forward, even though they are a tad expensive. It’s an easy test to perform at home, instant results with very little effort, just a slightly sore finger. The test cartridge is very similar to the Covid ones, with indicators showing CRP levels, if any. You do need to give your finger a squeeze to get enough blood out, not the easiest thing to do whilst collecting it at the same time. My result was negative but I’d be interested to hear from someone who knows that they have raised inflammation levels to see if the test picks it up. Hope you found my review helpful

Bei diesem Test gilt es, sich selbst ein Tröpfchen Blut abzunehmen, indem mit einer beiliegenden Lanzette in den Finger gepiekst wird. Für mich nicht im geringsten ein Problem, da ich die Blut- und Nadelpanik mancher Menschen aber kenne, sollte eiem das nötige Procedere einfach vor dem Kauf bewusst sein ;) Danach ist alles ganz einfach. Blut auf die Testkassette geben und kurz abwarten. Bei weiterführenden Verdachtsfällen - AB ZUM ARZT!!! Für eine allererste, grobe Selbsteinschätzung, durchaus zu empfehlen.

Ich habe den "CRP-Selbsttest für zu Hause" schnell erhalten. Verpackt war das Einmal-Testkit in einem Pappbriefumschlag und die herstellerseitige Faltschachtel kam entsprechend zerdrückt bei mir an, was dem Testkit selber aber nicht geschadet hat. Da ich kürzlich eine SARS_CoV2 Infektion durchgemacht habe, habe ich am (ca.) 4 Infektionstag diesen Test gemacht. Der Test ist wirklich simpel in der Durchführung: Man benötigt ein paar kleine Blutstropfen für die Pufferlösung und schon kann die Mischung auf das Testfeld gegeben werden. Im Prinzip funktioniert das, wie der bekannte Corona-Test selber. Was mich aber sehr gestört hat, war die Tatsache, dass die Anleitung auf dem Beipackzettel keine eindeutige Zeit angibt, wann das Ergebnis ablesbar ist. Anders als beim bekannten C19-Test, wo man abhängig vom Hersteller schon nach wenigen Minuten bis max. 15 Minuten das Ergebnis erkennen kann, soll hier nach mindestens 5 Minuten, maximal aber bei 6 Minuten abgelesen werden. Das alles, während an anderer Stelle auf dem Beipackzettel gefordert wird, nach 10 Minuten abzulesen. Was ist nun korrekt? Nun, ich habe nach 5 Minuten, nach 6 Minuten und nach 10 Minuten auf das Testfeld geschaut. Das Ergebnis war immer gleich: POSITIV auf CRP. Ich hatte nichts anderes erwartet. Schon bei einer vorangegangenen Corona-Infektion war mein CRP-Wert, damals beim Hausarzt, stark erhöht. Wesentlich interessanter wäre jetzt also wenigstens noch der Level der CRP-Erhöhung gewesen. Zu wissen, dass der CRP-Wert erhöht ist, ist eine Sache. Wichtig wäre, ob ... - kein CRP, oder bis max 0,5 CRP im Blut ist, also "negativ", oder ob es - wenig, also unter 10(CRP) ist, oder ob - eine mässige Erhöhung bis 40(CRP) gemessen wurde, oder.. - ob eine signifikant gefährlich erhöhte Menge 40 bis 80 vorhanden ist. Eine genaue quantitative Messung ist natürlich nur beim Hausarzt möglich, ebenso die Kontrolle des Verlaufs unter Berücksichtigung, dass der CRP-Wert immer 24 Stunden hinter dem eigentlich Ereignis hinterher hinkt. Ich habe schon früher CRP-Schnellteste zu Hause gehabt. Bei diesen konnte man zumindest das oben geschilderte "nichts - wenig - mittel - viel" ablesen. Bei dem hier beschriebenen CRP-Test wird nur ein "CRP ist vorhanden/Positiv" oder "Ist nicht vorhanden/Negativ" angezeigt. Das alleine reicht mir aber nicht. Mit dieser Ausführung bin ich leider nicht zufrieden und eine eindeutige Beschreibung der Wartezeit, betrachte ich auch als sehr wichtig. Ich kann den Test also nicht empfehlen.
