Well, I honestly didn't think I'd be reviewing this any time soon or buying one considering the price, but then our stove caught our kitchen on fire along with my old beloved V10. Shoutout to my Dad's insurance for this V15. I'm what you would call a vacuum enthusiast, but my true love is with shop vacs. I make daily disasters in the shop. In the house on carpet and hard floor though, these cordless Dyson vacs (v10 or better) aren't a joke, they really work and they really replaced our old Dyson ball animal v2 completely. We have a 130lb infinite hair generator (yellow lab) and he generates as much hair as I do saw and metal dust. Not having to deal with a cord completely changed the way I vacuumed, from begrudgingly when my Dad told me to cause we're having company, to sort of enjoying it and doing it 4-5 times per week. I've shown the effectiveness of and actually sold 2 family members and 1 friend on cordless vacs. Unless you live in a small mansion with multiple pets I sincerely bet even an older or cheaper Dyson would suit your needs. Anyway how's the V15 compared to the V10? Yeah it's basically better in every way, unsurprisingly, but the surprise to me was the fact the green detect LED isn't some desperate gimmick, not entirely, it really shows just how clean (or not) your floors are. I'm not a clean freak, but the fluffy detect motorhead will reveal dirt dust and hair you didn't know was there. How much that actually matters is entirely dependent on your threshold for cleanliness but if nothing else it's a great visual reminder of what needs work and where you've been. The suction is fantastic and borderline ballistic on boost mode. I'm pretty confident I'll never encounter an actual need for boost mode but I'm so glad they added it. It doesn't feel any heavier than the v10 at the handle but it's been a minute since I've used the v10 as it got cooked. Battery life is impressive given the power. I could vacuum every single room of my dad's old 2700 sqft house with the v10 and an aftermarket 6.5ah battery in one charge. Given the higher suction and smaller 3.6ah battery of this v15 I hesitate to guess but I'd say it'd definitely be able to clean the vast majority's highest traffic/dirtiest areas on a charge for sure. The auto power adjustment was a little jarring at first and a feature I wasn't aware of, especially considering the 3 power settings you can still manually select, but it actually does it's thing and works great. I'm not sure if you can turn it off. The dust canister is easy and holds a similar if not larger amount of dust compared to the v10. The fluffy detect motorhead is actually eager to climb and hop some impressive elevation changes in your floor and floor dividers. On hard floors especially with the fluffy motorhead it's much more maneuverable and easier to push, but the carpet motorhead on carpet is definitely harder but not much more than the v10. It does a fantastic job on even medium to heavy pile carpet (Not those shag area rugs though) and makes lightning quick work of hard floors. For how much this costs you'd really hope it's good, and in my humble opinion it definitely is. Indoors this is the best vacuum I've ever used by 5 or 6 good country miles.

This vacuum works so well it will genuinely make you question your entire understanding of what “clean” means. I thought my floors were clean. They were not. They were apparently a museum of microscopic shame. The Dyson V15 Detect Plus is absurdly powerful, easy to maneuver, and the laser light is both amazing and emotionally devastating. One pass across the floor and suddenly you’re confronting dust you didn’t know existed and wondering whether cleanliness is even a real construct or just a lie we tell ourselves. The suction is fantastic, it picks up everything, and the attachments are actually useful instead of just living in a closet forever. Battery life has been solid for normal cleaning, it’s easy to empty, and it somehow makes vacuuming feel a little too satisfying. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a great vacuum and an emotionally humbling experience.

This vacuum will both change and ruin your life, because you will realize how dirty your home really is….😅 Best vacuum I have ever owned. For context: my wife has extremely thick, wavy hair and we have a medium size dog with medium length, wiry hair who sheds frequently. We live in a 2 bedroom home with hardwood and tile floors and some rugs. General Performance and Hair Pickup This was our main concern. We owned a Miele Cat and Dog C1 vacuum and my wife’s hair would tangle the brush to hell, making it a pain to clean. I cleaned our entire house without any tangles in the brush. The brush self detangles as it runs so it is perfect for houses with women/pets who shed. This thing is powerful. It will also adjust speed/suction based on the level of dust it detects. P.S. If you have issues with the rug/carpet brush to spin, adjust the speed to eco and lower the slide bar on the head. Battery Life This is where the vacuum lacks but for the power it outputs and being cordless, it’s understandable. On the auto setting, you’ll get about 45 minutes on the auto charge, 60 on eco, and about 30 on full power. A little annoying if your house is dirty and you’re in the groove of cleaning but have to stop to charge. Weight For a bigger guy like myself I find it to be the perfect weight but I can see it being heavy to use for smaller people with continuous use. Not heavier than a cord bag vacuum like a Miele but still on the heavier side for a stick vacuum. Storage Capacity For a stick vacuum, the storage capacity is pretty good. Depending on the size of your house/level of dirty, it can fill up somewhat quickly but it is easy to empty so it’s not an issue. Cleaning Super easy to clean the brushed and the collection bin. You empty it almost like a pump action, dirty dropping from the bottom. If you have some hair stuck around the filter, fully open and close it a few times and it will be pulled down by the inner rubber ring. The hardwood floor brush is like a microfiber material but easy to disassemble and clean. Watch a YouTube video to be sure but wash the brush with only cold water (the dirt will come off) and let it dry for 24 hours. DO NOT get internal brush head parts wet. Final Thoughts This vacuum is worth the money. We got it on sale for 20% off and we are extremely happy we did. Easy to use and clean, expertly cleans rugs and hardwood, and just a great all around machine. We own other Dyson products (hair care) but this purchase cemented us into being a Dyson household.

This vacuum is absolutely incredible and definitely worth the price! It sucks up pet hair like nobodies business, never clogs, and never gets tangled. We have one of those pet hair rakes that pulls up pet hair than gets stamped into the carpet over time. I ran this vacuum over my living room rug, and then went over it with our pet hair rake, and zero hair came up. It seriously gets everything! It’s also very lightweight and easy to maneuver. It works great on low pile and high pile carpets and I love the green light attachment that shows me all the dirt and dust on my floor. It’s seriously the best vacuum I’ve ever owned! I highly recommend it!

If your goal is to vacuum once and be done, do not buy the Dyson V15. This is our 4th Dyson. The previous models were solid and worked without issue. This one is a pricey step backward that turns a basic chore into a drawn-out messy process. Cleaning power (real-world use) On hard floors, it often behaves less like a vacuum and more like a dust redistributor. Fine dirt gets pushed around and reappears right after a pass, which means you’re doing 3–5 passes to get what older Dysons handled quickly. The “see the dust” light is a joke, because what it really shows is how much the V15 fails to capture the dust the first time. Brush heads and workflow If you have wood floors and area rugs, be ready for constant brush head changes. You vacuum the wood, then have to stop and swap heads for rugs, then swap back when you hit more hard floor. It’s not grab and go, it’s stop cleaning, swap heads, repeat room after room. Bin/canister (small and messy) The bin is too small for a normal household (kids, pets). Worse, emptying it is a chore. Instead of a clean drop, debris gets stuck up in the top area, so you end up shaking it, tapping it, or pulling it out by hand. Then you get the extra joy of cleaning up the dust that escapes during emptying. Emptying the bin should not require a second cleaning session. Battery life (marketing vs reality) “Up to 60 minutes” might be true in the easiest possible conditions, but in a real home with rugs, stairs, and normal use, it’s nowhere close. In our experience it’s around 20 minutes max, which is not enough for a multi-story house unless you enjoy stopping mid-clean to recharge. Ergonomics/build The trigger design is flat-out uncomfortable. After about 10 minutes, the edge digs into your finger. For a high priced vacuum, it seems nobody used it long enough to notice how bad a design it is. Bottom line For this price, I expected strong pickup, easy emptying, and comfortable use. Instead, the V15 wastes time, makes a mess, and is annoying to operate. I regret buying it and would not recommend it, especially if you have hard floors, rugs, pets, kids, or limited time.

I really hate vacuuming and put it off as much as I can. With a number of cats I also want a vacuum with a HEPA filter so that whatever goes in never comes back out. My very nice canister vacuum works great but it is a nuisance to lug the two pieces around the house and find a place to plug it in. The Dyson V15 Detect seemed like it would solve those issues plus make it easier to vacuum the vinyl plank flooring I just installed during a major house renovation. And it did. The cordless stick style means I can easily move it around and don't have to worry about finding a place to plug it in or getting tangled up with the cord. The clear plastic bin makes it easy to see what is getting picked up and when it needs to be emptied. Emptying it out is easy and it can go straight into the trash without making a mess. It comes with a charging station that can be mounted to a wall so that it is always charged and easily accessible for its next use. In automatic mode it runs at a low power and then speeds up when it encounters a lot of debris. Overall it works great and almost makes vacuuming fun, or at least not the horrible chore it used to be. It costs a fortune and this in part is due to a lot of bells and whistles that you may or may not need. The coolest part is the Detect function, which is a green laser that illuminates every speck of dust, dirt and pet hair on the floor - it is shocking to see how much is there but satisfying to go by afterwards and see it gone. The auto function has a bit of a lag so that if it is a small section of extra dirt it doesn't ramp up until you are past the spot that needs it. It comes with an attachment holder for the barrel of the stick that I use for the crevice tool. Other accessories include a different head for carpets with a brush system to get up extra dirt and a smaller head for cars or other tight spaces that I haven't used yet. For autos or other cramped spaces you can take off the stick and put the cleaning attachment directly below the collection canister. It also goes quite flat for getting under furniture and the heads swivel a bit to go right up against walls. Overall a very well designed and executed system. I have only minor quibbles. Because it is battery powered and a stick, the suction is not as powerful as a larger machine and it will not be enough to remove fine dust from carpets, for example (I tried). It is great for everyday (or every week in my case) use but would be good to use a more powerful machine once or twice a year especially on carpets. It comes with the Detect head, carpet head, upholstery/vehicle head, a crevice tool and a brush. With one tool on the vacuum, one on the attachment to the stick and two on the wall holder for the vacuum you have space to store four of the five tools. It would be nice if there were space for all five and Dyson doesn't seem to provide or even make a holder for the fifth tool. If you have clutter issues like me then leaving the extra tool lying around is not good. Fortunately I was able to order a holder for the fifth tool from another platform and hopefully that will solve the problem when it arrives. If you are willing to part with a large chunk of your hard-earned cash for a very cool, high-tech HEPA vacuum that will make you almost look forward to (or at least not dread) vacuuming then this is a great option. The motor is not strong enough to pick up everything but it does an excellent job with everyday (or however, let's not get carried away) duties and what goes in will never come back out. Highly recommended.

Did a lot of research on vacuums before buying the v15. Overall - really loving it. A few things to note: Pros: -Fluffy Lazer head works insanely well on hardwoods and illuminates dust that is naked to the visible eye. It's honestly crazy how much it shows. -Light weight and easy to use. Holding down the trigger to vacuum doesn't bother me. I know some others dont prefer that but I personally don't mind. -Suction is insane and as I expected for a Dyson. -Looks good. -Was easy to mount on the wall using the provided hardware. Cons: -This vacuum struggles on rugs. I tried every direction and it won't get it done. The head gets stuck and stops. I only have 3 small rugs so not a big deal for me but something I wanted to call out for others. -Battery life. The battery is perfectly sufficient for my needs so I'm giving it 5 stars, but I likely couldn't clean my entire home in one charge. It does great on hardwoods and shows a 60 minute runtime on the screen. For carpets, it's also very effective (like I said, the suction is insane), but it drains more power on carpets and shows ~20 minutes of runtime. My house is 2,300 sqft and I don't think I could get all of the house in one go. It pulls up more dust and debris than my old corded shark and is overall better at cleaning. However, If you need this to get through a large house in one deep cleaning session, you may want to buy another battery or a different product. The batteries are detachable and easy to swap. I don't know the cost of a battery but just something to consider. Overall - super happy with it and it suits my needs as someone who cleans multiple times a week and can breakup cleaning sessions if I run out of juice. I was not paid for this review :)

Dyson D15 vacuum exceeds my expectations. I have had many different Dyson Vacuums and I have to say this is the best one I have owned yet. Good enough to replace larger vacuums. The new floor attachment with the green light is really a definite must when it comes to dust and dirt removal on hard flooring. Much improved over the V10. Cordless, Weight, Pickup Speed, Durability engineered into this product. Top quality.

Wow! So much suction! We especially love the the bare floor attachment with the light. Who knew how dirty the Hardwood floor was? It shows every spec of dust and cat hair! The other attachments are great too. We use them all. We absolutely love this vacuum. Highly recommend.

Después de 3 meses de uso DIARIO puedo decir que es la mejor compra que he hecho. Mi hija sufre de rinitis alérgica, así que en casa es importante tomar medidas para esto. Sin duda el aspirar diario ha mejorado considerablemente los síntomas. Es increíble que una vez que la usas, ya no puedes sentir que la casa está limpia si no le pasas la aspiradora y te aseguras que ya no hay polvo. Yo hago limpieza mensual a los aditamentos como lo indica la app y no he tenido ningún problema. Compré una base también por Amazon y no ocupa nada de espacio. Es importante mencionar que la aspiradora pesa bastante y si tienes una casa grande, a menos que seas ambidiestro, se te va a cansar el brazo. Aparte de que no es tan cómodo mantener presionado el botón todo el tiempo. He visto que venden un seguro para mantenerlo presionado y facilita mucho más su uso. Es una buena inversión, he tenido otras aspiradoras y no hay comparación.
