One of the best concept albums to own. High in the top ten of greatest funk albums of all time.
This is an album for the funk canon. It is easily one of the top ten best, must own funk albums of all time. Since it is a concept album it also ranks in the best of those as well even rivaling albums like Thick As A Brick, The Wall, The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. (Not to many great concept albums outside of the progressive rock arena.) It has unrealistically great songs with groove that just can not be beat. I recommend this to anyone that really loves music and especially fans of funk that are unfamiliar to it.

Best Damn Funk Album of All Time
Congratulations! You did it! You've stumbled across the greatest funk album of all time!If you will, please picture the scene from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, where the Holy Knight asks Indiana to choose the Holy Grail... "you have chosen wisely". Remember that scene??? You are in that scene right now, only the Holy Grail is this album, and all of the other albums (grails) are just imitators. The only other difference is, if you listen to other albums, you're skin won't melt off your bones.

Where's the guitar solo in Future Now?
It's about time this album was released on cd. This album is the reason I play Bass today. Sadly after listening to the first four minutes of the title song, Which Happens To Be My Favorite, I realized that blazing, funky mind blowing guitar solo was missing out of the recording. WHY? After waiting so long for this album, that was a big disappointment. However, I'm still happy someone took a shot at bringing this album to compact disc. this is still one the greatest pieces of work on the planet. Can't wait for Special Things.

Title track is not the US album track
To echo the other CD reviewer, Funkstarr 03X21, he/she is correct. The title track on this CD is not the version on the US album release. The version on this CD is not as good IMHO. Those of us who have waited a long time for this album to be released on CD are grateful to have it! Seems to me the UK label Ace Records/BGP have the exclusive rights to Pleasure's Fantasy Records releases. If this is the case and judging by the CD release dates of Get To The Feeling and Future Now, hopefully they will release Special Things on CD in about a year but with the US album tracks.5 Star band and 5 Star album but 3 stars for the title track miscue from Ace/BGP Records.

Another great Pleasure album!
I only discovered Pleasure a few years ago, put onto them by friend who's into Jamiroquai. This album is great, all the tunes good & representative of the idiom (which they created!). Also interesting to hear several references in their music that funk bands later appropriated. Great album!

Excellent Album
I first heard pleasure in the early eighties when a friend played one of their vinyl albums and Iβve been a fan since , Nat Phillips Bass playing is superb along with Bruce carters solid drumming and Dennis springers awesome sax , Glide , Nothin to it , strong love, great tracks and brilliant album .

Sleekly funky soul
Bought to accompany a vinyl purchased yonks ago.Underrated and poorly promoted classic album. If the pure vocal and sumptuous pleasure and arrangementof track Strong Love doesn't grab you(are you cold hearted?) then the highly original bass funk of Glide should shake your booty down to the ground!
