Definitions of Surveying and Associated Terms

The NCEES Exam has tons of questions regarding terminology. In the industry we use terms interchangeably and it's very rare that we stop to think about the differences between these terms. This book comes from the source and tells you exactly what each term means, so when you see it on the exam, you know what each answer means and can confidently pick the right one.

You NEED this is you want to pass the survey test. Compared to the 8 hour test, there just isn't one place where all of the survey information is located like the giant book. This is one resource that has 95% of the definitions in one place which is nice. Definitely not the only book you need.

Like most professions, surveying has a long history and it's hard to know all the terminology you might run across in old deeds or survey related text. This is a great tool in at least giving you a starting point to understanding foreign concepts. If you're ever planning on pursuing a license, you'll want this book in your library.

i found the book to be quite extensive in most areas of general surveying. There were some vagueries and some defs that assumed prior knowledge to fully understand. as I am using a text that also covers canadian terms and methods( Barry Kavanagh), I it short on some of these references and terms. Generally very helpful.

The book is as described. Nice clean print.

I got this edition to replace my 1989 edition. I consider this a must-have if you are in land surveying.

Great for taking the cst exam.
