Initially I was going to give it 4 stars due to the mistakes (which is no more than a few problems) , but I was able to find the Professor's e-mail online and he has been able to answer my questions in the problems. This is his personal e-mail in case you want to send him questions [email protected] sent me the revised problems that either have the wrong answers or wrong inputs. Overall I am liking the book a lot, it is precise and helps you get familiar with the handbook. The problems are not overkil, but also not easy enough to plug and chug, so work them and dont look at the solutions right away. I am not done with the book yet, but I already wish this book had like 400 problems, you have to study more on your own, but this is pretty good for a 1st edition.

This is a great book to use to study for your FE civil exam! I used it to study for my exam and I passed on my first try. It has problems pertaining to all the chapters covered on the exam and they all have solved solutions.I personally used the book to familiarize myself with the questions that will be asked on the exam and didn't stress to try to solve them alone first. I just followed along how the book solved them and made sure I understood exactly how each problem was solved and where in the FE manual the equations and values were coming from. This was low stress and I didn't feel overwhelmed with everything I didn't know. By time I went over every problem (220 problems) I felt very prepared.

This book has many practice problems that can help you prepare you for the FE Civil Exam. Unfortunately, there are many errors throughout this book. It needs further editing and updating.That being said, the problems and solution techniques can still help prepare someone who is studying for the FE exam. Just be aware there are mistakes.

It is one of the few books available in the market for the new format of FE exam. The book is precise and concise that it is easy to study before the exam as a refresher with enough time to cover everything for the test. The type of questions selected are similar to the actual exam. It easy to reference the FE formulas and also has consistent notations. The price of the book is reasonable for what it offers. In general, the book is well organized in every aspect to help students pass the exam. I highly recommend it for anyone planning to sit for FE-Civil exam.

I used this book along with videos to study for my FE. The problems with the detailed solutions were very easy to follow and got me very familiar with what type of material was going to be on the exam and gave the the confidence to move on to the questions without the solutions in the next section of the book. Using this book along with the reference manual and videos on YouTube I was able to pass the exam on my first attempt. Thanks Professor Urgessa!

It is a really good book. The solutions are very clear. The best part of this book is in each solution, it provides the page number of Reference Handbook. So it is really easy to find out. It helps me a lot to cover all topics as I do not have plenty time to dig details in each topic for my test. I believe this book can help me to pass the test in my first attempt.EDIT : I passed my FE exam. Really thanks to this book. It helps me to build up my confidence.

There are mistakes in the book so watch out but overall it helps review for the exam. I haven’t the exam but I hope pass.
