Habitat Suitability and Distribution Models: With Applications in R (Ecology, Biodiversity and Conservation)

A must read
Overall, it's a very good book on Species Distribution Modelling (SDM or HSM as the authors prefer), much needed and long-awaited.It's very easy to read and really comprehensive (I've read it from to start to finish in less than a week). The authors (three of the most renowned and respected scientists of the field) provide a gentle introduction to the subject and leave nothing out regarding the assumptions made and the necessary steps to be taken in order to run such an analysis. They also provide ample R code, both in-text and as a web-supplement.Nevertheless, what the book lacks in my opinion is more worked examples and a more thorough explanation of some methods (and not just leave it to the reader to refer to other sources). There are minor grammar mistakes here and there, but every book I guess has some.I would certainly recommend it to anyone willing to get involved to the SDM community, irrespective of his/hers level (under- or post-graduate).
