Great performance for the price.
I can say it's a very good mid level laptop: Games tested so far: FFXIV - 120-150fps on 7.0 with DLSS on and everything maxed. Cyberpunk 2077 - 90-110 fps on High settings, DLSS frame generation and low RTX lighting. Build quality is good, it's a bit thicker than most laptops in the space but has solid feeling hinges and the keyboard is a bit more clicky than the usual click clack ones laptops have. I've heard some people complain about fan noise but compared to other ones I've owned the fans are very quiet. Screen quality is very good, feels more bright with bold colors than others in the space, and had no backlight bleed. Has a solid amount of ports, with two normal USB A ports on the right side and two thunderbolt ports on the back next to the HDMI port. Supports displayport over USBC, no issues using it with my Valve Index. Has 2 m.2 slots that can be easily accessed by removing a few screws at the bottom. Note that the left (filled) slot is the only one that can fit a full size m.2 nvme drive, the other slot doesn't have as much clearance., and some of the thicker ones with cooling pads will not fit at all. Still, this is a VERY easily upgraded laptop, you don't have to pull apart half the laptop to upgrade the M.2. or ram slots, so Acer is a class act for doing that. Note this is the 2023 version with the blue intakes on the back and not the 2024 version with the black square ones. For complaints: the hinge on the screen seems quite large so the screen position does feel a bit higher than most laptops. Some people may actually prefer that but I like a more sleek look without gaps between the base and the screen when opened. Battery life isn't great, but that's to be expected with a gaming laptop. If you can get this sub-$1000, it's an absolute steal. Highly recommended.

fast, quiet, beautiful screen, great sound
This is the 4th Acer Predator Helios laptop that I've owned. Last year I took a break from Acer and bought a Gigabyte G6 KF laptop because it was on sale for a bargain price. It was a monumental mistake. I had nothing but trouble with it since I took it out of the box. Thankfully, 12 months later the Gigabyte put me out of my misery by completely dying. Hooray! Luckily, I found this Acer Predator on sale and I scooped it up. It comes nicely equipped with a bright and colorful 16" 165 hz screen that is 100% sRBG and G-sync compatible. The screen has ZERO backlight bleed. Awesome! The included Acer performance software is simple to use and is available at the press of a button. The keyboard features programmable RGB lighting and the keys are very comfortable. The laptop's fans, which can also be programmed, are silent when not gaming, and even with extreme gaming never sound like a jet taking off. Also, the laptop remains surprisingly cool while gaming. The sound that comes from this laptop's speakers is loud and pleasant sounding. This particular laptop comes with 16GB of DDR5 ram and only a 512gb SSD drive so be prepared to purchase whatever extra ram and storage space that you feel necessary. It is equipped with an RTX 4060 8gb GPU and a Core i7-13th gen Intel CPU which makes it quite a good laptop for gaming. The current sale price of this Acer Helios is hundreds less than similar MSI, Gigabyte, and ASUS laptops and makes it a fantastic value. The hinge on this laptop is quite study and there is very little screen flex. The entire build quality of the laptop is exceptional. It comes paired with a very adequate power supply and offers plenty of various ports. After my terrible Gigabyte experience, I'm very happy to own another Acer Predator Helios. It feels like coming home. I will never stray again. I 100% recommend this fine gaming laptop.

Very good for digital painting and design
I recently got it and has worked perfectly fine for me. I do have to make clear: I do not use it for heavy gaming, but I do play Terraria, Minecraft and The Sims 4 occasionally. The main tasks I use it for are digital painting, digital design and studying (using Office, Teams, Zoom, etc.) and it has performed very nicely. It has no touble at all managing the bigger, more complex brush settings, such as those that mimic real paint, but I do switch it to Performance mode when using them. The keyboard is nice, it feels comfortable to the touch and is easy to adapt to if you are used to a bigger laptop format. It is also very fast and easy to work with, with short waiting times for heavier apps to open (I use the Adobe Creative Suite and it does not take more than a minute to open any of the apps). With this kind of use, I have not noticed any kind of heating or fan noise. The screen brightness is perfect and adaptive for indoor use, whether the room has dim, bright or no lighting. Also, it has quite a wide range of screen viewing angles. I have noticed the cover gets fingerprint marks quite easily, but my hands do sweat a bit more than the average person's, so this could not be the case for you. Both the device and the charger are very heavy, so I would not recomment carrying it with you to work or school, unless you have no other option. But, if you can, I would totally recommend getting a tablet or some other kind of PC-like portable device in which you can do some lighter tasks, and then detail them at home. I have seen some other people complaining about it heating too much on the Turbo setting, but there are solutions to this. Also, I believe it is relatively common for this kind of PC's to heat up when they're used for heavier tasks.

Bios Chip Died - Poor build
WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! The laptop was good overall, until it kinda died only after half a year... For some reason something happened with the bios chip which made the laptop completely unusable! Also found out it that the same happened to multiple users on reddit. Do not risk buying this specific model or any other "budget" acer laptop, do not make the same mistake like me, either invest more money into lenovo/asus or be ready to deal with probably A LOT of problems with this laptop.
