Is this a standalone unit or do you still need to use the blue and yellow spa frog bromine floaters as well?

This is a standalone unit. It is also chlorine based. If you were to use the bromine floater it would counteract this product.

We don't use the hot tub every day. How often should I run the jets to keep the minerals and chlorine levels constant? The seller can't answer

Most hot tubs have a “clean cycle” that automatically runs the pump for a short period of time typically 20 minutes twice a day. I’ve been using the “Ease” floating system for over a year now and it seems to work out just fine! Because I was totally brand new to the world of hot tubs just over a year ago it took me a little while to learn all the tricks to keeping the chlorine, PH and alkinlinty levels in range but I now have it nailed down and I change the lower “gray” part of the “Ease” cartridge out about once a month and I have a 500 gallon tub so I adjust the dial on the bottom of that cartridge to “2” and I change the top “Mineral Cartridge” the “blue” part out about ever 3 months and each time I change out the bottom gray cartridge I add a bag of their “shock” and run the pump a few times. It seems to be working well now. I only wish that that the “Ease” company would include 3 packs of the shock in the box that they sell that has 3 gray cartridges in it? You have to add a pack each time you change the cartridge so if you order the box with 3 gray cartridges and don’t order 3 packs of shock seperatly youkll be out of luck when you go to change out the gray cartridge!

Does it work with swim spas, 2000-2500 gallons? How long would it last?

The instructions show adjusting the setting for up to a 600 gallon hot tub. This would likely be too small for 2000 gallons; I’m not sure if it would work to use multiple cartridges. With a 400 gallon spa, a cartridge normally lasts 3-4 weeks.

Can I use this one for pool as well? It is small above ground pool - 800 gallons

You could but remember Frog @ease is specifically measured for a hot tub which is about 300 gallons. You could set the delivery at the highest concentration, but it wouldn't last as long. Take a look at a product called Flipping Frog (something like that). I ordered it for my hot tub once and it was rated for a larger volume, put out too much chlorine for the hot tub, so I wound up putting it in my pool.

This is such an easy solution to maintaining your hot tub! It’s easy to dial in how much product to use based on the size of your hot tub. From there, you set it and forget it for weeks at a time! Clear water, mud in bottom of tub?

Have used these for several years, since the tub was new. Tub is used 1-2 times a day. These work great in keeping water clear and balanced. However, I notice a brown “mud” in the bottom of the tub, which I vacuum out frequently. Used to think I was tracking it in. But then I took the “frog” out for several days and the mud disappeared. So after much experimenting, the mud is definitely coming from this device. Can you make it so it doesn’t leak whatever that stuff is. And is it safe for me?

Work well, don't forget about your tub.

This is a great product, but don't assume you can put spa care out of your mind. Not uniform in how long they last. Sometimes 3 weeks, sometimes 6. Pay attention... If you don't and you don't use your tub for a few days at the wrong time it will be full of green water. That said, I'll never go back to granules or tablets. I do still non chlorine shock every 2-3 weeks and watch my ph. A little pricey compared to conventional. Went on vacation for 3 weeks and didn't worry about my tub. Excellent product.
