Chains, hooks, straps, clevis', I use all sorts of items like these to rig up for anything from skidding logs to, rescuing our local delivery drivers from our gravel road ditches when we get heavy rains. Moving wooden beams, lifting timber frame bents and steel for metal buildings, you name it, I'm doing it. And this hook with clevis from Keyfit is a strong and good looking chunk of steel. I just love how everyone is powder coating rigging items these days. And this bright green is no exception. It would look right at home on a showy big rig wrecker or my UNIMOG crane truck. The safety weight rating is incorporated right into the forging for quick reference so you can keep your lifting safe. They are comfortable on your hands with all the edges being rounded. Heck, I just can't find a downside with this hook. It is a high quality item at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend you give this a try if tow hooks are something you use. I think you will find it a great tool also. Oh, almost forgot. The little rubber "secura strap" is something new to me. Great idea! It is a third hand when needed in situations where you are trying to get your hook at a certain point on a chain for perfect balance. LOL, just don't lose it because it isn't bright green like the hook and is hard to see on the ground.

Ordered this Quick RIG Heavy Duty Forged General Utility 15" Hook & Shackle for Fast Strap Chain hook to use in hauling my trenching machines (ride on & walk behind). I needed a good hook to make loading my machines easier as most time I'm alone, loading, unloading, and if I get stuck in mud on a job.I ordered this hook as I like the good strong heat treated, nickle plated forged steel build. It has a (2) ton - 4,000 Lb working load strength. Most my wheeled machines weighs from 2,000 lbs to 5,000 Lbs and is perfect for my use. I like the smooth neon green powder coat finish (no rusting), also like the rubber grommet to use on hook to secure & hold chain from moving around while attaching chain to a piece of equipment when loading. It's also been helpful when I get stuck in the mud on a job . I can just take the hook, throw it around axle of machine and pull it right out very quick with having this good strong hook.Very handy tool while being a "one horse operator" on a job. I got this to get equipment unstuck around my place, and it has worked good so far. I am probably going to blast the paint off of it though since it is leaving bright green marks on everything metal. I dead lifted a 3500 lb trailer with it on my loader and it didn't break, so I can say the one I got is good for at least 3500.I like it!

I have not tested it to its rated working limit, but have used to to drag a couple of tree trunks quite well. Hardware is sturdy. Paint is a little delicate, but oh gee. I mean, you are not buying a product like this to be pretty. If you are keeping it in a wet environment I suspect WD-40 would protect it just fine, if you even care that much. Would not trust in a true marine environment though.

This hooked can be used for a variety of purposes.I like to keep them around my camp to hang gear or deer on.Great for adding to a rope and towing something with my ATV as well.So many uses, I'm sure I'll find more.

You know what I'm talking about. I sometimes lose stuff. Whether it is not in its place in the shop or maybe I set it on the ground for just a minute and then come back and can't find it, it happens to the best of us. But not with this 15" hook and shackle. The neon green color is great and makes it stand out whether you are looking for it hanging on the wall of the shop or next to the trailer where you are loading equipment.It is strong, heavy duty, and well made. I've never worried too much about metal to metal contact when dealing with grade 70 or better chains, but this hook has a rubber pad to cut down on metal rubbing against metal. With or without the rubber guard, it's a good hook in a good size and the neon green means that it will likely be the first one I find.

Very pleased with this hook. It is very robust. I got it to hook to the overhead winch in my garage so that I could quickly connect to the frame of my lawn mower to raise it up to remove the deck blades for sharpener, tire repair, etc.. It works great. Well made, large and good paint job. Highly recommend it.
