It works, but needs a longer rod.
Edit: Today I affixed the thing with a more proper 4 ft rod so I can attack brush from a distance and this thing SINGS! The ONLY thing they could do better is to center the hook to the shaft, (and I still think it needs a steeper hook) but I think being a bit off center actually kind of helps it hook. In any event - This critter is now my go-to brush clearer and tree trimmer. There is not much this thing can't thin. It works - it maybe needs a bit more hook but it works for what I intended it for (clearing brush). This ships as two separate pieces and comes with a teeny tiny lil nail to affix the rod, and immediately feels quite awkward and clumsy. I plan to re-set it with a longer rod next time I get to the hardware store. I think this would run through brush beautifully if it were a bit more.. halberd like. Otherwise she comes quite sharp, and the steel seems pretty solid.

Blade is great but most buyers will want to add a longer handle.
The hooked steel blade looks great for my poison ivy in yard problem but the wood handle needs to be at least 24" after it clears the tool socket and the small nail given to secure it drops the 5 to a 4 rating. I drilled a 1/4" hole through the tool and my own 4' long handle and bolted it in to lenghten the reach to stay away from the poison ivy. With that, it's a really great tool.

Great tool
Very sharp and sturdy design. The handle is a bit undersized. It is functional, but I wanted a longer and heavier handle. It was easily replaced with a handle that I already had. It is a great brush hook.

Very good bush clearing tool
I threw away the provided handle and attached a 22" stick (wraped with bike handle tape) to knife and turned into a very effective bush clearing tool, much better than US Army issued machete. The steel is not the best but good enough for light job. I cut tall weeds/grass and 1" branches with ease and without damage to the blade.

Overall very worth the price
4/5 for the handle being a little hard to get on and a slightly short and thin, feels sturdy after tapping in handle with a hammer, quite sharp and easy to use, cuts 1.5" thick branches in just a few swings without dulling more than a light honing can fix

I thought it would wack the branches no not even cutting. It says for firewood.
I got this to cut branches a little stronger than a rose bush. Didn't do the job

Blade comes sharp
Questionable handle, seems too light and flimsy to tackle smaller trees........other then that it's exceptional for chopping down corn stalks. The blade comes sharp.........handle is🤷♂️

A phenomenal tool
All right so full disclosure I stuck the blade on a shovel handle.... And this thing is amazing when it comes to everything. Small trees and branches, palm trees, palm fronds, underbrush, anything I can throw this thing at it is just chewing through it
