Have to admit I am surprised. The unit is less clunky than you would think from the Amazon pics. It is also surprisingly solid. For the money it is a no brainer if it keeps working for more than a year. In case it is not obvious from the info on the site, you can indeed control it from your phone. We haven't needed to utilize the light because it works well enough when our existing motion activated lighting is triggered. Was very easy to install, and comes with enough wire length to mount the solar panel on the edge of a roof with the wire carefully draped down between a gutter and the roof edge. We will be buying three more - two for my gal's house to complete coverage, and one for my place to cover my driveway when I am away visiting her.

Overall a great product for the price. We installed one at our house and one at my mother’s. I am able to check on her. She’s having a bit of problems with her neighbor, so I’m able to record them flashing lights in her windows in the middle of the night and turn it over to the police. We installed ours to keep an eye on our Christmas display and make sure nobody messes with it. I’m able to go back and look at the history and sometimes the sensitivity does need turned up or turned down, but it provides great options..

They’re coming out of the woodwork as the vendor attempts damage control by giving the product away to virtual shills.Well I bought this sucker, have given it a chance to perform over 2 weeks and I’ve decided that’s it’s best to avoid.Read my evolving review below. The last straw was when the unit could not charge itself despite being in the full Louisiana sun. For two days. Why should I put up with this and having to buy additional items to jury rig a permanent charging circuit?Avoid it. Bite the bullet and by a Reolink. The built quality and app are superior.Initial thoughts.Product works well, no set-up drama, vid quality is good. App if fine.Downside is that there is no zoom feature, despite PTZ advertising. PT yes, Z no.Extra “BS bonus” is that the camera, despite advertising claims and instructions, does NOT take an SD card. Despite living in latitude 30*, Solar charging is poor. I’ve been averaging ~ 4 days of use, then the internal battery falls flat putting the unit offline. I have to unmount the camera, charge it via a wall charger, then reinstall. A real PITA and borderline dealbreaker. I may have to hard wire the camera to a wall socket charger. For my use that means a 20’ USB C to USB A cable plus a 10’ USB A extender these costing $20+. (Now I’m at $70 to use this camera.) Or not as it may go back to Amazon.2. The motion sensor function has a large latency; I.e. there’s a large lag from when a person entered the FOV and a detection “call”. That means you’ll miss a lot of the action when a person first enters the FOV.I contrast this unit with my Reolink cameras which are excellent but pricy about 3x the cost of this device. Love these cameras. This is a night shot from my porch without the porch lights on, just the camera itself. They are full color, run on solar, have a backup charger, and have a full range of motion that is about 320 degrees, so you can point it towards any direction you want. The pictures are always crystal clear. It’s super inexpensive to get, and the app is free and easy to use. The microphone is also very easy to use and is loud on the outside too. It picks up motion at whatever level one chooses, making the video capture functionality and motion control for human figures and just plain motion as sensitive as one could want, or not. It’s the best. I am gifting one to my aunt, because she’s constantly needs it.
