1 X BTF Iodophor Sanitizer - 4 oz.

Great sanitizer for my salami making. I dilute and use this in a spray bottle to disinfect. Easy to use.

Having read about sterilization on a few brewer sites, I decided I'd like to use this form of iodine to sterilize a water dispenser that always seems to be "not quite clean" -- it feels slimy. Since the water is for drinking, I wanted something effective, harmless, and tasteless. Iodophor is used in very low concentration, and does not require rinsing (which would defeat the purpose of sterilization). People who make beer know all about this kind of thing! So, I bought this small amount and some very small pipettes to measure the Iodophor and I am confident the result will be an improvement in efficacy at my water dispenser. If the water dispenser is used a lot and therefore the water doesn't just "sit" in it, you probably wouldn't need to do this. But in my place, the 5 gallon jug may sit in place for a couple months and I notice a slimy feel on the neck of the old bottle when I remove it to change bottles. That can't be good, so I'm going to try this remedy inspired by my beer brewing friends. C

When I got this bottle of iodophor, the bottle doesn't look like a new one. I think there might be some leaking of the iodophor during the shipping or before the shipping. But anyway, the sanitizer is good.

Used this to clean out gallon jugs before making hard cider. Worked great, sanitized them perfectly, didn't have to rinse, stings a little if you get it on your hands, but washed off and left no injury behind.

This is a great sanitize to use for home brewing. It is very potent so there is no need to use a lot of sanitizer and this 4 oz will do go a long way. The only downfall is that I found it cheaper at a local brewing shop, hence the 4 star rating.

I really love this sanitizer! It is quick and easy to make a 5 gallon batch and sanitize everything that I am using in the kitchen.

We make our own beer, cider, mead, and cheese, and this works perfectly for all those needs. Will purchase again.
