Is there a carryong case that you would recommend for this headset?

I just used the soft case it came in. I inserted a thin piece of foam on both sides of the case for extra paddingand haven't had any issues. The headset is pretty sturdy.

Would this work to use for broadcasting over a public address system?

No it would not. It has a 5 pin connector not 3 pin xlr
