My 17-year-old's first toy and likely her last sadly...
17 years ago (roughly) I bought this toy for my 7-week-old kitten I adopted... and she tore it to shreds!!! but loves the heck out of it!!! I ended up having to buy a dozen more over the years and this purchase was probably my last (for her at least) I'm glad that this toy gave her so much pleasure We actually nicknamed her it her tortle (tortoise and turtle together) because she has always been so enamored with it this toy has brown joy to our hearts let alone my little old lady and for that this is the best cat toy I could ever imagine. Thank you for making my old lady's life happy. The tradition isn't going to end though! We have a 7-month-old kitten who also is completely enamored with "tortle" My little old lady taught my little young pain in the booty to love your toy too... so again thank you! No excuse me while I go cry and it's not your fault.

3 Paws Up!
We have 3 cats and were shopping for inexpensive toys for them for Christmas. I thought this looked pretty cute and the price was reasonable, so even if they weren't wild about it, it wouldn't be a big waste especially since it comes with catnip. It looks and feels pretty well constructed. The "fur" is attached well and does not come off during play. The tube of catnip was fresh and it comes with a decent amount. The back of the toy opens up and you pour the catnip inside the toy animal, then seal it back up with velcro. There is no inner bag to fill or anything like that. The space for the catnip takes up pretty much the entire body of the beaver, so you can get a lot in there. With no catnip, the toy is mostly flat. I was concerned that the velcro would not seal well and the catnip would spill, but my fears were unwarranted (but see below). My cats LOVE this toy! This is not only their favorite present, but it is their favorite toy overall right now. I am a bit surprised, because I have given them catnip - stuffed toys before and they were largely indifferent. They would smack the toy a couple of times then lose interest. There must be something special about this beaver though, because it holds their interest for a long time and they become really engaged with it. My boy got to it first. He is playful to begin with, but even so, he threw this all over the living room and by the time he was done the beaver was soggy from him chewing on it (yet no fur came out, there were no holes or rips, and I saw no spilled catnip anywhere although the velcro held, which seems a bit odd). One of my girls got ahold of it next. She is a bit older and more settled than my boy, but she also played with it for a good long time. They are still batting it around this morning, although I have not refilled it, and it is slobbery again so I can tell they are really enjoying it. They don't walk by it without at least giving it a smack or a good sniff. They have never played with a toy as much as they play with this one.I really recommend this toy. I also suggest that, despite the decent amount of catnip that comes with it, you should probably buy extra as I suspect that this toy will not deteriorate quickly. My cats will use up the catnip that came with it before they destroy the toy, I think. I am going to see if Kong makes this toy in other animal shapes.

OMG These Are Great
Holy cow!!!! I give it the full 5 stars. My kitties can't count so they give it a 10 (I'll just say 5 from each cat). I apparently missed the part in the description that said the catnip came in a plastic bottle and I had to fill the squirrel myself. They must use some REALLY good catnip. I have 2 cats, therefore I bought 2 of them. While I was trying to stuff the catnip into the first one, my grey tiger cat mugged me continuously. My husband was doing his best to hold him at bay, but my cat was possessed (it was a scene worthy of America's Funniest Home Videos, but we had nobody left to do the filming). I finally got it stuffed (at least as much as I was going to get in there at the time), and I let him have it. Well, ok, he took it out of my hands and took off with it. He went nuts with it. While I was stuffing the second one, my orange tiger kitty was watching his brother play with the first squirrel and patiently waited to see what all the excitement was about. He didn't have to wait long for his turn with it because the grey tiger one caught wind of me working on the second squirrel, abandonded the one he already had and started mugging me again for the second one, thus giving the orange tiger a chance to play with the first squirrel. I could NOT get them filled fast enough. Both kitties absolutely loved them. They each had one in different areas of the room. I don't think anything could've distracted them. Not even a 12.0 quake. They played like wild ones for about an hour, then wore themselves out so much they just laid there and stared at their new toy, then they both slept for a long time. They picked up where they left off after waking up. Both my little furballs would definitely recommend these to ALL their friends. I only have one piece of advice for the "parents"..... Save yourselves!!! When these arrive, take them into a closed room WITHOUT the kitties to load them up. Then open the door and toss it out.

Toy came without catnip.
Feel horribly cheated. The toy came without the catnip! I thought this situation would never happen, really careless on the supplier’s part.

Provides My Son With Much Amusement!
We have your typical female cat.., with servants instead of owners. However I bought her some catnip filled toys a while ago. She played endlessly with them until the catnip wore out. I've handed this one over to my 14 year old son so he can have the joy of filling it and watching her trying to kill a bit of aritificial fur, over and over. The cat loves it, and it seems to provide my son with entertainment too. I wonder if he's living vicariously. Sometimes I despair of this household lol. But it arrived more quickly than expected and the cat certainly loves killing the bit of artificial fur over and over.

A Catnip toy that the cat actually likes, loves & attacks
The media could not be loaded. I have bought a number of catnip products over the last 2 years and each time the cat (2.5years) sniffs the toy and then ignores it - wow, not this one - she adores it and went mad with it for a solid 30 minutes before she was flaked out!!The toy is smaller than expected but this isn't a problem, it is similar in size to a mouse and very soft. The velcro is super strong and takes a careful teasing apart after which you can insert the attached catnip, and use a finger to poke it into the body void of the soft toy - simples. Put the velcro together and job done. This toy can be reused, simple by emptying out the catnip which can be hooked out by finger, tweezers or somethign else small.I am super impressed and can not fault it - my fur baby loves it

Small but effective!
It’s smaller than I expected but my cat absolutely adores this thing already. He’s not stopped playing with it since I got it out of the packaging about 20 minutes ago. It appears to be holding together very well considering he’s trying his hardest to rip it apart! It comes with a very decent amount of cat nip in a refillable tub and a little apparently goes a long way (judging by the amount he’s drooling on it just now). Will be buying again if it ever wears out!
