My husband should have put this back in the box the second he saw that the frame was dented and saved himself two hours of headache and aggravation. It is IMPOSSIBLE to install this with any amount of satisfaction of the end product. There were parts that did not fit, and even if they did, there was no way to close the screen door without leaving a gap. There was also no way to close the screen door and have it shut securely, and the instructions were terribly confusing. Not to mention, it was so dang flimsy and would not glide smoothly along the tracks. I’m sure my kids would’ve busted this thing in about a week. In the amount of time we spent messing around with this thing trying to get it to work we were able to go to Home Depot, pick up a retractable screen door, install it, then sit down on the couch and enjoy a cup of coffee. Waste of money, time, and resources. Amazon, get this garbage off your site.

Unfortunately my husband bought this without reading the reviews! The only reason I gave one star is because I couldn’t leave zero. This is very cheaply made, the directions are nearly impossible to follow, the size was not corrects! My husband had to cut the frame in order to make the door fit. Unfortunately we can’t return it because he made some adjustments.Now we are stuck with a door that doesn’t fit and have to order a different door!

We purchased this retracting screen to replace the screen door on our patio sliding door. We have a similar style retracting screen on a French door that leads to our deck and it has been great so we thought this one would be too. It was a pain to install compared to the other one. It does not slide or retract smoothly, it is very jerky and sticks in the track. The handle is a very flimsy piece of plastic that we had to glue in place because there was nothing to hold it to the frame. I do not expect the handle to last very long as it is already bending from regular use. The door frame is only slightly more sturdy than the handle. There is no latch to secure the screen when in use as you would on a normal door. You have to twist the screen just right to get it to hook? Or magnet together? (Or something? I’m not even really sure what it does to stay in place because it never does what it’s supposed to). When we get lucky, we can get either the top or bottom corner of the screen to stick in place but very rarely both so it leaves a 1-2 inch gap on the end that doesn’t stick. I’m only giving this 2 stars because when the stars align and it does close correctly, it looks ok and does what it’s supposed to by keeping the bugs out. It is not worth the price and I would not buy again. You are better off buying one of those magnetic screen curtains.

The door itself is not bad for the price. It moves relatively easy, and if you install the stops correctly, it catches well, though releasing is not smooth.I do like that it is intended to be cut to size. I have a non-standard door size and there really isn't anything the correct size to fit it out of box. There are made to order options but they are significantly more expensive. This door came in at around $100 less than the made to order options.The video for installation on the product page and the written instructions both provide 4 different options based on the door's location, such as to concrete or to the door recess. The actual installation instructions are not terrible but a bit vague at times.The real issue is that the custom fit instructions are sorely lacking and there are a lot of things which aren't very well explained such as what should be measured and cut for the proper fit. The overall door can be cut to height, which is great. You cut through the screen as well as the frame. The problem is the instructions don't well state what the mean for the height measurements and it took 2 cuts get the frame the size I needed. After I got through that, at a later step I realized the screen also had to be cut to a specific fit which was not explained, otherwise it won't fit in the tracks. After that I found out the leading edge door rail was too long for the height door I picked and also had to be cut down to size to fit the sliders into the top and bottom tracks. I was able to preassemble the door and mark the size for the top and bottom rails as they would be installed, which is the only way I could have gotten that sizing correct, because once again the instructions didn't give useful information.Understanding the size actually required was also difficult and it took two cuts to get that correct.All of that said, once I had the correct size, it fit into the door frame and was easy to screw in the three screws each for the top and bottom guide rails. From there, I had to adjust the location of the of door catches on the top and bottom guide rails so the door would catch and release properly.Because of the ambiguous custom cutting instructions the installation took me about 3 hours, which I think is far too long for such a simple device. Having to recut and smooth edges several time for different parts of the door, some expected and some not, just really created too many issues for it to be an easy installation if cutting to a custom size.I am giving a 3 star review due to the above being the negatives. If the door breaks or doesn't operate well after some usage I will probably adjust down. I do like that it is fairly discrete looking. The white blended with the white paint on the outside of the door perfectly.

I don’t like writing bad reviews but this screen is horrible. We cut it to fit our door like you’re supposed to. It does not open or close. Easy has fallen apart. Several times the handle is too close to the end of it so you can’t get your fingers into it without hurting him against your door frame and it just is useless.

I agree with all of the reviews. The directions are terrible and there are no videos or website to refer to. Unfortunately you dont know just how bad ubtil you begin the process of trying to fit and assembel it. I returned it and now am waiting to see if there is a refund as this is an imporssible product to install. Some of the part are cheap plastic and break when you try to assemble them.

I don’t even want to give an 1 star review, it should get negative stars. Already in the trash. Do not buy this product. Absolute waste of money. Cheapest piece of crap. Instructions suck and the product is even worse. Extremely disappointed and I wish I would have returned.

The product looked good except the length (height) was about 1/2 inch to long. It seemed like they cut the metal housing to length but forgot to take into account the 1/4 in height of each of the two end caps. Had to return item, one of the plastic endcap pieces broke during shipment, so can’t comment on actual operation.
