ESV, Thompson Chain-Reference Bible, Large Print, Leathersoft, Black, Red Letter, Thumb Indexed [Zondervan, Thompson, Dr. Frank Charles] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. ESV, Thompson Chain-Reference Bible, Large Print, Leathersoft, Black, Red Letter, Thumb Indexed Review: Everything I was looking for in a Bible. - I love this ESV Bible. It is beautiful, gilded, indexed and with attached ribbon markers (2). It's a type of faux leather which I am ok with because it looks and feels nice and won't dry and crack. I have multiple Bibles in various translations but my ESV is a small font paperback and not at all suitable for me to read at extended length. I have a few NIV study Bibles and appreciate them, but so much if the page is cluttered with study information, it takes away from the scripture flow I think. This does have a few notes on the page. But they are relegated to the margins and the scripture is 2 columns and a 10 point font. Very easy to read. Makes it large and hefty. Feels like something I could pass on to my children or grandchildren someday. I appreciate the chain study notes because they are not distracting and just highlight running themes since the Bible is a collection of stories breathed into man by God and ultimately show the coming of Jesus from the beginning in Genesis to his promised return in the visions of Revelation and is a cycle of themes that repeat. I like that the more in-depth notes in are in the back of the Bible. Very much worth the investment for a book anyone can easily get for free. Review: Large Print is the Way to Go! - I'm so excited about this bible. It's my second Thompsons - but my first Large Print. And guess what I love most about it... yup! The text size! Like, there's just something about comfortably being able to see the text. I'm so excited about reading and studying from this beautiful bible. The cover feels soft and amazing. It has not one but TWO bookmark ribbons. And it's just overall a jewell. My only suggestion is to notice the dimensions and buy your bible cover. I thought I could just use my current bible cover and it's too small so I had to buy a new one.

A great way to study the Bible.
Exactly what I was looking for to help my studies. The print is large enough to see, the thumb indexes, the red letters for Jesus’ words, and all of the extra info to help me dig deep. I’m so pleased with it.

A true heavy weight, in more than one way...
This is an excellent chain reference Bible. It is extra large and heavy, good quality. So it is my reference Bible for researching for the book I am writing, but I keep it at home on my desk because it is too large and heavy to carry around. That's what I use my Thinline Bible for. I am very happy with the Bible and would recommend it to others.

Nice bible translation
This has become a strong competitor to my OSB( main bible), even tho I’m an Eastern Orthodox. I like the leather cover. Litle plastic but better than hard cover. The print is large so my old eyes don't get tired, studying for many hours, The words of our Lord (New Testament only) are in red, The English translation is accurate and faithful and nice to read (not like weird King James English with all ty, thou, da, ga ) Searching by The reference is painful and I found it quite useless. That was not my idea of reference, at least. I like it.

Beautiful
I bought one for me and one for my husband. We are both extremely pleased. The cover is soft. The print is a good size. Overall it’s well worth the price!

Nice, practical design, with all the features I wanted.
Wanted to replace my NASB Thompson (gave it away). but they aren't being made anymore. ESV was translated in much the same way as the NASB, by several highly respected theologians (like J. I. Packer), and was meant to be an "up-dated replacement" for the NASB. PROs: large print, in an easy-to-read font indented tabs (easier to find passages) red-letter edition (always liked that) good intro information on each book decent Hebrew & Greek dictionaries good maps & notes and, Thompson Chain Reference!
