Review: The book is Sam Plants a Sunflower is a lovely, educational book perfect for young children. It clearly explains the steps of planting and growing a sunflower, making it ideal for school topics on plants. The illustrations are engaging, and the simple language supports early readers. A great addition to any classroom. Review: Perfect little story book to encourage little ones. I bought one for a friends grandson & put a packet of the sunflower seeds with it. He sees and ‘helps’ his dad growing salads & vegetables, so I’m sure he’ll love it. And I bought one for my grandaughter too.

Nice straightforward account of planting seeds and growing sunflowers. It includes useful points to use in a classroom, about conditions for growth and key vocabulary. The central pop-up and flaps are appreciated by young children. I've used it with reception and nursery children (3-5) and it held interest. It's not too long. From my point of view it's not particularly fun to read, it's a nice book but not a favourite.

A great book for our preschool, lovely bright illustrations and language used, especially engaging through the children lifting flaps to reveal parts of the growing cycle. Perfect for use alongside growing a sunflower with your child to watch it go through the stages in the story.

I bought this for my granddaughter who loves being outdoors and mum and dad want to introduce her to gardening. It is an ideal book aimed for young children, with lovely illustrations and a simple story based around how seeds grow.
