Great bit of kit for testing grip strength!
I bought this just for fun, to see what my hand strength actually is — and it does exactly what I hoped. It feels solid in the hand, easy to hold and use. The screen is clear, and the readings seem consistent every time. Setup was quick, and the built-in battery means no messing around with replacing batteries. The multi-user feature is a nice bonus. I’ve only used it myself so far, but it’s cool to know others can track their own scores too. No issues at all — works perfectly straight out of the box. Great value for what it does.

Are you strong or feable?
Bought this, saw a few videos where a grip strength dynamometer was used on workmen. The model on there was EH810 and this was the result that come up. So thought why not buy one and test my own Grip strength as I was curious. I suspected grip strengths are different when using one of these to normal grippers. I can close a CoC 1.5 gripper, and almost close a CoC #2 gripper. So my strength should have been at least 75kg if they match in this fashion. These devices use a strain gauge and an adjustable tension wheel which basically allows you to squeeze from further away, or closer to you (I imagine if you have smaller hands). I feel the handles aren't the best for gripping. As I know when I use my gripper the leveraged is maximise for me from the points of my fingertips, and this device is too small for me to grip properly in my hands to get the best leverage. You also have a choice of 20 different users on these, so it's good for monitoring strengths of different people I got a value around 57kg anyway, so it's considered strong. I only bought it for a test anyway. You won't get the value your expecting. The highest value is supposedly around 89kg (btw Eddie Hall pulled a 88 on one of these) so it should give you an inkling of the force required to close these grippers. Paid £21.99 so good price for delivery. "Normal" on these is considered around 40kg, most builders / glaziers etc seem to pull between 60-70kg as they're manual jobs.

Simple to use
I find it simple to get a reading as it reverts to the highest grip strength you achieved as soon as you release your grip. I haven't attempted to assign users and keep a record on the tester itself - for my purposes pen and paper work fine. It's stiffer to squeeze than I thought it might be. As I'm still suffering the after effects of hand strain, I limit myself to a few squeezes every other day and the rest of the time I'll pick up a a small fairly spongy ball to exercise my hands. After just a week or two I'm getting slightly better results - going from 'normal' grip strength to the lower end of 'strong'. I'm not sure whether this really is an increase in grip strength or just an improvement in my technique, but it's reassuring after the damage that I did to my hand.

Inaccurate readings and definitely not rated to 180kg
Right, so initially, I thought this might be a decent product from the reviews but was sceptical given the price, and it has now been proven. I am a certified CoC 2.5 gripper closer which is rated at 108kg. Now, I am well aware that static grip strength is vastly different than dynamic grip strength, and numbers will likely be lower. I initially pulled 71kg on the machine, which I thought was a little low, but I didn't think much of it, and now I'm pulling under 60 kg every time. I tried putting the machine on the floor and standing on the handle, and it read 60kg when I weigh 105kg...

Base level grip tester
Works fine - I presume the load cell is accurate. Construction quality a bit naff, the grip adjuster is rubbish. Value acceptable overall.

IT DOES READ ACCURATELY BUT
For everyone saying this does not provide an accurate reading, it does. You just need to set the grip handle to the highest point towards the spring rather than having it all the way down. A typical grip strength required to close a captains of crush 3 gripper is between 80-85 and I can close it which checks out. Everyone else I’ve had try this dynamometer has had ratings that check out with their gripper status. If you want an accurate cheap product pull the trigger on this one.

Does the Job at reasonable price
Does the job fine but I find the silver wheel that alters the grip 'spacing' very hard to turn and at max effort I think i will need to pad the outer part of the grip.

Works good. If you do it too much you can hurt your hand with a hard plastic or bruise yourself if you go crazy like I did but great measurement tool and fun to use.
