Works well regarding maintaining temperature.
Works well at keeping drink at the right temperature. Takes a little getting used to drinking with the lid on.

Special feature : Leak Proof (Not for long!)
As many other reviews have said this mug is *great*. It does that it claims to do and feels quite premium (it should for the price).Unfortunately, again sadly like many reviews, there is a huge problem - the lid. The lid is leak proof (it's a special feature apparently - just read the product highlights), unfortunately it won't remain leak proof for long. After a few uses it will start to leak and replacement lids aren't available.I still use this mug, but can no longer put it in a bag as it has to be kept stood up or it leaks. Hardly "leak proof".Unfortunately for such an expensive item it's just not acceptable and I cannot recommend it at all. There have been a few iterations of these mugs - but the problems clearly remain. It's a shame because the core product itself is really good, the App is "okay" (not really necessary - just set the temperature on the device itself).

Could be more expensive?
I like the overall feel of this. But I'd be more comfortable if it retailed at £500. I feel that would be more suitable for a cup.

"Design Flaws Ember Mug: Cleaning Challenges, Dust Exposure, and Short Battery Life
There are several product design issues with the Ember Mug. It's difficult to clean, as stains persist even after regular washing. When the lid is pressed, the sides don’t get properly cleaned due to the very small space. Additionally, the lid is wide and exposed, making it easy for dust to mix with your drink when you're outdoors. The battery life is also limited, lasting only two hours, whereas it should ideally last at least eight hours.

Good while the battery lasts, which is less than expected
Controls the temperature well, touch interface is easy to use.The insulation of the cup is quite poor, gets very warm on the outside when just pouring in the beverage, so losing a lot of heat. It's great while the battery lasts which is barely two hours after than cools down pretty much instantly. If you want something to keep your tea or coffee warm for a longer journey you are better off with a regular thermal flask.I expected a bit more for the money

Don’t buy from Ember
So we bought these in America not on Amazon. Absolutely disgusting customer service after the lid broke. They just don’t work and they don’t replace the lids in Europe. It will work for a few weeks but you will regret it pretty soon

Significantly overpriced
This was bought for me as a birthday gift. What looked like a fantastic product to start using on my endless driving trips for work, it was very short lived.Firstly, yes it’s a smart thermal flask, it does what it says it does, had some decent features, I could input my business name on the front which was a nice touch. The temperature control is ok and the top cap that you press when you want a sip of coffee is a good design. That’s where it stops for me I’m afraid. The flask itself when fully charged lasts no longer than 1 hour, once flat, the coffee cools down quicker than many other cheap flasks I’ve had. You then have to rest it onto the charging dock for more juice, by which time you’ve either already drunk the contents which in all honesty, the volume at which you can decant into is seriously tiny.I think I did however read somewhere that this isn’t necessarily a travel mug which is fair enough but why would anyone want a thermal flask to keep at their desk on constant charge for not to be heated?? I feel that this is a big design flaw where it’s limited to a tiny niche of people who for some reason like to have a smart mug at their desk to keep their coffee hot, I don’t know anyone who has a coffee that lasts them an hour so what’s really the point with this product?Cleaning of the head is difficult, the button where the liquid is drawn out of has a number of nooks and crannies that are difficult to clean liquid from.Additionally you can only really use this for non frothy coffees which decreases the overall volume. As for the price, why is it so high? £199 I expect this to have a lot more features and a seriously long battery life.Overall it’s purely a gimmick that I’ve no doubt will dwindle down the pecking order when compared against other relatively cheaper and more functional flasks.Unless you just want a gadget then by all means but otherwise, I’d advise to steer clear.Review based on 1 months use.

terrible non-existent customer service when broke
lid broke in 6 months and despite many messages no one responds - item thus fit for landfill...
